As a born & bred West Coast 'girl' the light and colours of the beach and sea heavily influence my artistic and design style. I’m delighted to welcome you to Beach Bling by Design! I have spent my whole life living in one of the most beautiful places in the world; Victoria, British Columbia on Canada’s magical West Coast. Living on the beach forever has heavily influenced my artistic vision. I see
‘bling’ when the light hits the ocean, and hidden in the sea glass found along the rocky shore. The magical colours of the waves, sand and driftwood speak to me. My hope is that the finishings and feel of my furniture will allow you to bring some of that magic into your home. In November of 2014 I got ill which resulted in a permanent Spinal Chord injury. I’m not going to tell you that it wasn’t scary or that the past 2.5 years have been easy, but in one really important way that injury has freed me. After almost 30 years in Hotel and Event Management I now have some time on my hands to pursue my passion for furniture reloving. I started painting and refinishing furniture almost 30 years ago when I was a single Mom who couldn’t afford the expensive pieces I wanted for my home. Back then, before Facebook, Youtube or Google, I taught myself how to make the garage sale offerings I could afford look like the top of the line designer furniture I craved. Fast forward through many adventures in both my personal and professional life and I can now let my creativity out to play, and this time it’s not just my friends and family who get to enjoy these special pieces of furniture artistry.
