Handmade jewellery using single use plastic bottle tops, lids and milk bottles, creating unique eco friendly gifts and accessories.
Be part of the change and reduce plastic waste!
We’ve had a new stock drop at The Barn Gift Shop from Emma at Referlished! We really love this jewellery, which is made from recycled plastic bottle tops. How clever is that? Gorgeous and good for the environment ! (Rather like us at Langloch Farm!)
Hurragh! Referlisheds first TikTok… a bit late to the party I know, but pleased I have managed to get it going! Please give me a follow!
From bottle tops to jewellery!
All my pieces are unique as no two ever come out the same, all handmade using recycled single use plastic.
Sometimes my process goes wrong and the plastic doesn’t behave enough for me to use for jewellery but I still create some pretty cool photos from it!
“Pure Sh*te”
It’s a simple concept - you pick up your dog’s poo, put it in a bag... and then hang it from a tree? 🤷♀️ Sadly, studies show that when one person leaves a poo bag behind, others are more likely to follow suit. Just like how litter can attract more litter, one abandoned bag can turn into a bigger problem. Let’s break this cycle and keep our parks clean for everyone to enjoy! 🚮
A fab day beach combing at Largs today, some wonderful blue glass and ceramics found and I collected some beach plastic ready for my next painting with plastic piece.
🌍🌱 Today, on World Earth Day, let’s reflect on our planet’s health and the impact of plastics. At Referlished, we believe in action, not just words. Our jewellery and art aren’t just beautiful; they’re a statement of sustainability and a tiny solution to plastic pollution.
🔍 By crafting jewellery and artworks from recycled single-use plastic, we’re tackling the plastic crisis head-on. Every piece we create represents a commitment to reducing waste and protecting our environment.
💡 Our creations serve as a reminder that we all have a role to play in preserving our planet. By supporting Referlished, you’re not just acquiring stunning accessories; you’re joining a movement for positive change.
🌟 This World Earth Day, let’s choose planet over plastics. Together, through small actions and conscious choices, we can make a big difference. Join us in our mission to turn waste into wonder and help build a cleaner, greener future for generations to come. 🌿
Thank you for all the support over the last year, it’s been a great year full of research and discovery a long with creating new and improved products and continuing my journey in recycled plastics as an art form. Can’t wait to see what 2024 brings! #2024
New stock in of you’ve never been then deffo put it on your list to visit! The food is delicious, the wee gift shop is bursting full of local and sustainable gifts and if you’ve got little ones the play park and woodland walk is a must!
🥲
We like to share this photo every year to remind everyone about the amount of plastic waste in this popular gift. Look at the plastic compared to the amount of chocolate.
Every Christmas we see these selection boxes and buy them for our friends and family.
If we all just think about how our choices impact the environment more, we can all start making the change that is necessary.
New stock making its way to tomorrow!!!!
New shredder in action! Finally got round to ordering clamps so I could get this bad boy going! Filling a tub would have usually taken a painful few hours cutting by hand but man this was quick… going to have biceps of steel though 💪
And now I can share the video that goes a long with the project.
Art Is Everywhere // Emma Ferla Wishaw artist Emma Ferla talks about the inspiration and process of creating her 'upcycled' artworks
I had a great time this weekend being part of the Art is everywhere project.
I have been working with this project since June 2022 so to have all finally come together and see all the artists involved under the one roof was so good.
I was commissioned to create three pieces for the project highlighting the conversations that art can start and for that is around the climate challenge and the litter problem around north Lanarkshire. This has allowed me to really develop my creative practice and I am excited to be starting this next chapter creative career to see where I can take the use of plastic as an art medium to. This is just the beginning.
Thank you to everyone who supported me and to all those who collected bottle tops for me!
I had put that this is 2-6 but it’s 3-6 oops, hope to see some nice familiar faces there x

I wonder if anyone can guess what the main focus of our next mural is going to be...using these white cuttings from paracetamol bottles?
A lovely meeting today with Clare Adamson MSP for Motherwell and Wishaw, chatting about my work and the art is everywhere project and the litter problem in North Lanarkshire.
I was pleased to meet with Emma, a local artist and owner of Referlished to speak about her current mural project.

Sorting out the colours in preparation for the Murals.
If you would like to get involved with the project I am desperately seeking more bottle tops! You can send them to me or I can collect locally...you'll be surprised how many you can save in a short time!
Following on from our announcement last month about our upcoming work with 'art is everywhere' I have been having conversations woth community members about where my art comes from, specifically that my work is made from waste, and a lot of it is found within our streets and woods.
The Murals I will be creating will be inspired by the nature all around us within the ML2 Postcode, but unfortunately these beauty spots are more often than not ruined by litter and fly tipping.
These Murals made from plastic bottle tops, inspired by nature juxtaposed by the very materials I use ending up wasting our green spaces. I am hoping these Murals will spark a conversation about the environmental issues within North Lanarkshire as well as giving my local communities the chance to explore art of an unusual medium. I'd love to hear locals thoughts on the environmental impact of waste across ML2, how it affects you and is there anywhere you'd particularly like to see one of the Murals within wishaw? Or do you have a site you think would benefit from having a mural placed there.
Send me a dm, comment or email [email protected]
Apologies for the radio silence recently but we have some big news!
We have been selected to produce a number of Murals across the ML2 area made from...you guessed it...our trusty bottle tops! Watch this space for updates!
We are so excited to be collaborating with the project, promoting art of all forms across North Lanarkshire!
I've been working on some "trash art" using the pieces of bottle tops that are too thick to cut down, it's a tricky process as I have no control over how it melts but pretty pleased with these results. I will be getting these framed and they will be available to purchase soon 😀♻️
