The Mitten Hooker
I've been crocheting for about 12 years and I love creating new and fun things! I crochet hats, coozies, ear warmers, and more!
You can find me at bazaars in the Great Lakes Bay region of Michigan in the fall and I also have items for sale at Iron Grind Coffee Shop in Auburn, MI. Ready-to-ship items are available on Etsy and I do take custom orders if I don't have the color you're looking for. Check out my Etsy store, www.etsy.com/shop/TheMittenHo**er
I realized I never shared this beautiful pride flag I made for a friend's daughter last year, but this is the perfect month to do so! This was a new stitch for me and I would love to use it again. β€οΈπ§‘ππππ

I can't get enough of the colors in this sweater. And since it was for a good friend, I obviously had to make matching bandanas for her dogs. πΎπ
β’
Fresh restock up at ! Bookmarks, cup cozies, drink mitts, wristlet keychains, kindle sleeves, and zippered pouches are all available to grab while you enjoy your favorite beverage. Today I got an iced pistachio white mocha and it was amazing!
β’
Check out these super cute bookmarks I made! I'm working on some new things to stock at Iron Grind Coffee for the spring and these were a must. I'll let everyone know once they're available!

Did you know that March is reading month? These Kindle sleeves are so much fun and I just love making them in all the colors! These are available at Iron Grind Coffee House and on Etsy, plus you can also custom order. π
β’
I've been looking to make some items I can sell year round - don't get me wrong, you can wear my hats at least 8 months out of the year here in Michigan! These zipper pouches are so cute and functional, they can be used for so many things! Pictured here with pencils, they'd also be great as a cosmetic or toiletry bag! I have some of these available at and also listed on Etsy.
β’
When your favorite secret store to find discontinued, low-price yarn is closing, you stock up.
β’
This pastel color palette is giving me all the spring and Easter vibes. ππ±π·ππ£π₯
β’
I stopped at Iron Grind Coffee House today to grab an iced pistachio latte and stocked some new items! You can now find Kindle sleeves, zipper pouches, and Easter bunny baskets along with some St. Patrick's themed drink mitts!
β’
Nacho does not look impressed that Jethro is taking up the whole couch. Maybe I'll have to make another after all. π
β’
Loving this color palette. πβ€οΈ
β’
Jethro has finally tried out the couch. So happy he and Nacho both like it!
β’
I had a friend request a cover for her Kindle, and I couldn't be happier with how this turned out! I even had the perfect button. ππ
β’
This graphic I stole from a Joann's ad is 100% accurate. π
β’
I restocked at Iron Grind Coffee House this morning! There are some new hats, mitten coozies, and more! I had some work to do for my day job and was craving a crepe (strawberry cheesecake is my fave) so I figured it was a perfect time to stop up there for a bit. I also had a strawberry green tea with mango boba and it was so tasty. π€€π§
β’
Happy New Year! My office has been closed for the holidays so I've enjoyed some time doing some selfish crocheting! And I'm pleased to say that Nacho loves his new couch. π»
β’
And no, I will not be making these to sell. :-)
β’
He loves it! π¦π¦π
IT'S FINISHED! I am so happy with how it turned out! I'd estimate I have about 80-90 hours into it. But it is probably my favorite thing I've ever made! Can't wait until Riley gets to open it tonight!
β’
Taking a little break from the blanket to wish you all a Merry Christmas!
Christmas Eve night update: Final panel is done! Well, except for weaving in the ends. Now to finish the fencing on the last panel, stitch all the pieces together, and add a border. I can do this!
β’
This panel is not quite finished - I still have to embroider the crossbars of the fence. But I wanted to get started on the final panel before worrying about that since I can add that later. One panel left!
β’
Fun fact: I have Mr. DNA tattooed on my ankle.
β’
Making more progress! I've gotten this panel and another done this week, I just need to weave in the ends of that one. Two left!
β’
If I manage my time right over the next few days, I may just have this thing finished! Getting closer every day.
β’
Here's another panel of the blanket! I'm so excited for what it will all look like put together. π
β’
Here's the first panel I made for the Jurassic Park blanket. I finally got all the ends sewn in on the big logo panel yesterday and started crocheting the fifth one; thankfully the remaining panels are all smaller ones like this. There's still hope I'll get it completed by Christmas!
β’
I foolishly decided last month to start a blanket for my son for Christmas. "I can finish it in time," I thought. Well, November Alyson was much more optimistic than one-week-before-Christmas Alyson. I have 4 of 8 panels done, and have so far spent 3 hours alone weaving in the ends of this one (still not done). Think I can finish it in time? π
β’
Got to use another fun tag from on a custom hat for a dear friend! I just love this one and the colors she picked out. ππ·
β’
This tag is one of my faves and it goes perfectly with this pom. ππ§ββοΈ
β’
This hat is available for purchase!
