You don’t have to be amazing at playing the puck, but you can’t afford to be “bad” at it. It’s not something that will necessarily win you a championship, but it’s definitely something that could “lose” you a championship. Our annual Puck Handling Clinic is scheduled for Jan 2nd-3rd in Coldwater, ON. Over these two days we cover the basic skills of shooting, passing, handling, skating, and advanced reads and “Hockey IQ”. Goalies will learn through proven rep based training and competitive games. Don’t wait until it’s too late to learn the fundamentals. Major junior teams don’t want their goalies learning how to play the puck at 16 and 17yo - they want to see it done right at your first training camp. One from a small northern town playing in his 1st season of AAA hockey, after years of grinding. The other, a late bloomer, back home for a visit, playing in his 1st season of Div1 professional hockey in Sweden after humbly starting out in the Barrie Christian Hockey League. It’s a real fact that goalie numbers are dropping! This could be linked to covid, price of equipment, and cost to play etc. But one of the main factors we hear the most from parents of goalies at all levels, is the lack of attention their goalie gets at team practices and in general from their association. Fortunately, our team offers association and team practice training for goalies of all ages and skill. During the hockey season we facilitate teams and associations like these guys in Huntsville, all the way up north, through the Muskoka’s, and down to the GTA. Inspiring youth goalies to grab onto the position, and helping promote advanced goalies to the next level is what it’s all about for us.
