When a storms a brewing and mom is trying to put your hay in your building so I doesn't get wet, but you prefer to eat it out of the utv instead.
Added some sunflowers to the mix this morning 🌻
Equine happiness. Poor Cocoa had gotten a little fluffy on all that lush spring grass and had to go on a diet in the goat pen. She's slimmed down a lot so we'll let her hang with her friends for a while in the horse field. It's so sweet how equines build relationships with each other and when they're separated, they'll stand by the gates to be close to one another. Once the grass slows down they'll all be reunited full time.
Glimpse of what's going on at the farm right now. Zinnias & cosmos going crazy. Sunflowers starting to open. Peep those pumpkins and watermelons coming along! And of course, we still have squash, zucchini and cucumbers coming out of our ears.
Found our first sunflower blooming!
Thank you Andrews Chamber of Commerce for awarding us the Beautification Project of the Year Award! We feel very honored and are so happy that everyone loves the farm!
The first little zinnia bouquet. Fun fact, every single plant in our garden was planted from seed.
After battling so much rain in trying to get everything planted, the first fruits of our labor are coming in!
After some shuffling around last night, we got all the cows/heifers/calves in the big field together and the bulls in the bachelor pad. Moved Summer in with the horses and she's out there living her best life.
Loafing sheds were finished up last night, just in time for the horses to not use it in the rain 😂 but this will provide them much needed shade this summer. Shout out to for coming out onsite to get those built for us! This is our last big farm project for a while, now we sit back and maintain everything!
Everyone's always asking what the "wooden thing" in front of the barn is... Well, it's our farrier stocks for our big girls. Weighing around 1,800lbs each, it's no easy feat to lift and hold those hooves for a trim.

Happy Mother's Day to y'all you wonderful moms!
After 9 months of fence building (among many many other farm projects) we have set the last post and ran our last electric rope. Well, at least for a while. Very happy and thankful to have planned and executed turning a huge pasture into 7 functional paddocks. We have lots of options on how and where to keep our animals and rest our grass.
"Who says you can't halter break a cow in a day? LOL"
Fences don't wait for sunny weather. Working on splitting the big field. Planting shade trees and getting ready for the loafing sheds to be built.
Kit is still working on shedding out... But that shine on Kat 😍 I love sleek summer horses.
Summer, our little mini mule. This girl has made me put in the work. Came from being in open pasture, never handled by people with a foal horse halter and lead rope stuck on her. We moved her in our goat pen and I could easily spend 2+ hours a day just trying to get close enough to catch her. I even tried to sell her because I just didn't have hours every day to chase her around. Well, a smaller pen, treats she likes and weeks of time with her later, I watched her walk up to and take treats from Jeff and the kids hands tonight. We still have some things to work on but she's come a long way!
We know April showers bring May flowers, but if the rain doesn't let up, we'll never get those flowers in the ground 😂
And the new farm members are....Belted Galloway's! Meet Rose, Dorothy & Blanche.
cows
Any guesses on what is coming back to the farm tonight??
{If you already know..shhhh 😂}
The cutest gift from my farm wife. She had these plant hangers made that match our horses ❤️ thank you Alexis Flaig Smith
How the girls make sure the cows remember who is top dog when they go back in the big field at night.
Rainy days are for farm projects and today's was getting loose mineral feeders set up in our different paddocks.
Tank takes his job of "watching" the kids very serious. I imagine him telling Bertha and Nellie, "I was just resting my eyes" 😂
Legacy Farm wishes everyone a Happy Easter! 🐣

The girls literally stop traffic when they get moved near the road
