MiG-29 with 3D printed magnetic base. The first model I’ve done in probably over half a decade. I wanted somẻthing to put on my desk at work and I had this on the shelf: I’love Russian aircraft and I started this paint job before I saw the Polaris Program MiG otherwise I probably would’ve done that😁 livery its not historically accurate or even very good (I was never very good 🙃) but I like it, and I used some old black ABS filament and some magnets to make a base with sealable pedestals so I could change up stance when I get bored with it. Might get me back into modeling if I can keep finding deals🤔Got this one on eBay for 99¢ plush shipping🤫.

So I’m getting ready to try another flight with this plane. It’s the first clone I’ve both designed and 3d printed. Up until low I’ve designed plenty of planes and 3d printed other peoples designs but not both. It’s based on the l Ultimate 10-300. I was shooting for a target weight of 700g and achieved an all up weight of 640g so with an estimated thrust of 1600g on three cell batteries, and the potential to go to for sale. Don’t know if this thing will be a rocket, but it will certainly have some serious vertical potential. I also increased the size of the Rutter by about 8 to 10% and attempted to get the maximum amount of deflection. I could out of all surfaces in a bid for maximum nose authority. I already know this thing can flat spin because on the maiden flight, that’s all it did, however, after taking it back to the bench, I realized I forgot to give it any motor offset angle to counter the massive prop wash generator And pressing on both the flat body and large tail surface. I’m excited to try it again now that I’ve corrected that.

Wanted to print with polycarbonate alloys, so it was high time for a few upgrades! Enter my minds playground. All metal hot end, and acoustic foam on the walls of the enclosure to dampen sound and insulate for higher enclosure temps to help control material warping.
