a few more pictures from the Alabama rally
We are back from our Alabama Dist Rally trip, and what a trip it was. Although some of the traveling was challenging it was well worth it. Started the trip with heavy rain. Heat and humidity set in when it wasn’t raining. The staff of Alabama put on a great rally in a very interesting area of there state. We started out visiting the Muscle Shoals Recording Studio where a lot of iconic music of the 70’s was recorded. Also took a stroll through the Alabama music hall of fame. Debbie and Brian won 1st place in the costume contest. There were a lot of laughs that night! We went on two group rides. One to Shiloh Battlefield and Buford Pusser’s (of Walking Tall fame) home and museum. The other ride went to the Rattlesnake Saloon which is an experience in itself. Then on to the C**n Dog Cemetery before returning to the hotel for more fun and laughs. We broke up for the trip home with some going on the Barber Motorcycle Museum and some heading home with a stop at the Fort Donaldson National battlefield park. As usual it was a Chapter Z adventure! A big thanks to the Alabama team for putting on a wonderful rally.
Chapter Z was well represented in the Alabama rally costume competition Deb n Brian won first place!
I always love the look of our wings all lined up. This was from tonight's Chapter Gathering

Great day for a ride. Got some apples, cider and wine. After the orchard we had had a change of plans and went to the Plano outlet store and got a few waterproof plastic cases. Then on to a neat restaurant in Sandwich Illinois that was inside a railroad car that Freda knew about
Wonderful 2 day trip home. Hit some more twisty roads on the way home and stopped at a state park in Pall Mall Tennessee. Over night in Evansville Indiana with time in the pool and dinner at texas roadhouse. And no trip through that part of Illinois is complete without a stop for lunch at Yoder's country kitchen. No we need to start planing for Green Bay!
What a great way to end the rally. Did another self guided ride through some amazing twisting roads. We stopped at Brushy mountain penitentiary. You can take tours here and have lunch in the wardens restaurant. Brian won the 50/50 on the last day wonderful closing dinner and Elvis is here!
Ended the day with dinner downtown, lighted bike show and ice cream! I'm not good at remembering to take pictures. Here are a few from the world's fair park
we had a great day In Knoxville. road 177 miles, most of it on great twisty roads. stopped at a few overlooks. Had a wonderful lunch at a steak place that had 10$ lunch specials. ended the day getting our packets picked up and opening ceremonies where Julie won some 50/50 money and debbie won comp entry for next years rally. oh yea its going to be in Green Bay next year!!!
fun times at our progressive dinner!
We had a fun trip to Vandalia for Summer Rally, a bit hot, but we still had a good time. We had to go see the fire breathing dragon, and the, it's just a scratch, Monty Python knight! Randy's drone happen to be in the air also.
Ok yea it was Brian's bike with the flat. Today lesson, replace your valve stem with a tire change!
A few more pictures from Saturday's fun run
Had a great ride on Saturday, 6/15. Considering it started out with a flat front tire on one of the bikes, and running into another closed road, we seem to be good at that! Chicken Lips were had by a few! Great friends, great lunch, and a great time, can't ask for more. And it's always an adventure with Z! The bikes are sitting in downtown Havana.
Nice turn out for tonight's ice cream Ride. We hung out long enough to solve most of the world's problems and had a few laughs too!
