Whether you believe you are an artist or not. Organized together. Shouldering each other. Learning together and from one another. Loving us.

Aquí, my compa and I are signing off eight months of living by my desk creating the final art of my book, Bright Star, Lucero. Although I began making my book more than a year ago—researching, writing, sketching—I began the color art exactly on the days the quarantine was announced. There are still details to finalize, the authors note to write, color proofs revisions, etc, but right now I am tired and delighted with this precios and intense part of the journey accomplished.

Perhaps, like me, you could not see at first what was wrong with certain books, and it is understood, because we often lack the tools to see the damage they inflict; we have been taught to not question something shinny and stablished such a published picture book. But we should, and this is a great webinar for getting critical tools.
