The Parade will be held on Saturday, August 17th at 6:00 pm in Sleepy Eye. Staging area will be near Ellsworth Street.

The Grande Parade will be held on Friday, June 28 at 6:00 pm-it starts at the intersection of O'Connell Ave. & Lincoln St., west to Mary Ave., north to Sanborn St., east on Sanborn St. to Cass Ave. (same route as last year).

A great day for the Brown County Convention! Representative Paul Torkelson, Senator Gary Dahms, Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach, and Congressman Brad Finstad all spoke. The Brown County Republican of the Year Award was given to John Nicholson. Thanks to everyone who attended!

Republican Party Precinct Caucus Tuesday, February 27

Three locations across Brown County

The Brown County Republican Party will conduct the 2024 Precinct Caucus on Tuesday, February 27, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Registration opens at 6:15 p.m. Individuals may participate in the caucus if they will be eligible to vote in their precinct in the next election, are in agreement with the principles of the Republican Party, and voted for or affiliated with the Republican Party at the last general election or intend to vote Republican in the next general election.

According to Greg Bartz, Chair of the Brown County Republican Party, “a caucus is a straight-forward approach for citizens to get involved in democracy. The three key objectives at each caucus are 1) learning about issues and candidates, 2) electing delegates to the Brown County Republican Convention and 3) submitting resolutions to the state party platform. Each caucus site is led by local volunteers.”

There are three Republican caucus locations in Brown County:

The Springfield caucus location is the Springfield American Legion Post #257, 5 North O’Connell Avenue. The Cities of Springfield and Comfrey, as well as the Townships of Bashaw, Burnstown, Mulligan, North Star and Stately are included at this location.

In Sleepy Eye, the caucus will be held at the Sleepy Eye Public School Cafeteria, 400 4th Avenue SW. The Cities of Sleepy Eye, Evan and Cobden, as well as the Townships of Albin, Eden, Home, Leavenworth, Prairieville and Stark will caucus at this location.

In New Ulm, the caucus will be held at the New Ulm Community Center, 600 North German Street, for all precincts in the City of New Ulm, the City of Hanska, as well as the Townships of Cottonwood, Lake Hanska, Linden, Milford and Sigel.

“We encourage people to take a bit of time on Tuesday evening to participate with their neighbors in this grassroots process. Just show up. It truly does have an impact,” said Bartz.
