Enjoy the day off and stay safe!
Plimoth Plantation 2016-2017
Some pictures from Plimoth Plantation today!
Third graders had some special visitors today: news anchor Sarah French and meteorologist Bri Eggers from channel 7 news! Sarah shared about being a news anchor and gave a behind the scenes tour of the station and Bri told us all about the green screen! It was a fun afternoon!
We had a wonderful day at field day today!! They all looked great in their country's colors!
Third graders video conferenced with Rachel Powers from Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida! She taught them about the solar system by discussing the size of planets relative to each other and the sun, the life cycle of a star, the status of Pluto (as well as seeing the very first images taken of Pluto! It took 9 1/2 years for the satellite to get to Pluto to take the picture! It got there last July!) Ask your student all they learned about galaxies, the planets, and stars!
Also, down the app exoplanet and visit the website solarsystem.nasa.gov! We used both of those during our virtual field trip today!
Third graders video conferenced with Rachel Powers at the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida today! She taught us about our solar neighborhood by discussing our galaxy, stars (including the life cycle of a star!) and the planets. We saw the very first images taken of Pluto (they were taken by satellite and it took 9 1/2 years for it to get there! They got the images in July of last year). Ask your student about all they learned today!

Today's STEM challenge: build the tallest tower you can using one box of tin foil. They did a great job! The tallest tower by Violet, Jonnie, and Daniel was 51 inches tall!!
Third graders worked so well together showing teamwork, cooperation, and patience during our STEM activity! Ask them all about it later!!
Great morning at the teachers vs fifth grade wiffle ball game!
We had a great night at math game night yesterday! Thanks to all the families who came out! Lots of fun seeing families playing math games together. (Students even had to help their parents brush up on some math skills!)
So proud of all the hard work these kids put into their animal projects!!
Don't forget about the animal fair tomorrow! 10:30-11:15 in the gym! πΈπΌπ―π¦ππ§π΅ππ°
With help from our school nurse Ms. Jordan, students participated in National Foot Check day. They cleaned their feet with baby wipes then kept them on their desk to keep them clean until the podiatrist arrived. They practiced wiggling their toes to be sure their bones were working properly.....you should have seen their faces when we yelled "April fools!!" π
Enjoy your day off! See you all tomorrow, and remember it's a full day!
Playing games to practice equivalent fractions!
To celebrate Read Across America, third graders and kindergarteners partnered up to read together!
