Universal Macias 16U #20
My 10th grade high school softball season is in the books. I'm honored to have been selected 1st team all-league, my team's offensive player of the year, my school's athlete of the month, and to have received an over 4.0 GPA award. Thank you to everyone who voted for me and believed in me. I really appreciate the "Most Likely" award given to me by our graduating seniors: Paige McLeod, Samantha Shah, and Sophia Baccei. It's obviously a joke, but I like to think of it as recognition for always trying to improve in every situation. I'm going to miss you on and off the field. Good luck as you start the next phase of your lives in college. I'll be rooting for you!

Thank you to selection committee for nominating me for the Class of 2025 Regional Watchlist for the PGF Futures All American Game. In the meantime, I'll continue to improve my game to hopefully be deserving of one of these coveted roster spots.
08/19/2022: I wasn't locking out my sn**ches, so had me work on it... a lot. These aren't even all of them, but it's what I could fit into the 1 minute limit. Thanks for pushing me to be better!
After taking a week off after PGF Nationals, I hit the gym hard last week. I managed to get in 4 times, and on 08/18/2022, I made a new PB of 85 kg (187.39 lbs) on back squats . I was so close to getting 200 lbs up, so I know I'll get it next time.
It's a little late, but I recently discovered I made 2nd team all-tournament for the Zoom Into June and TCS Colorado Sparklers tournaments. PGF starts next week and is the last tournament of the summer. WIsh us luck!
I was pleasantly surprised to find out I made the 1st team all-tournament team for TCS Nationals and am joined by 3 of my teammates: Emma French, Kaia Galaviz, and Ruby Cuen. Many thanks to my parents, coaches, trainers, and teammates for helping me get better and making the journey so much fun!
TCS Nationals was a blast, but it ended a little early for us on 07/16/2022. I did manage to make it onto the leaderboards for stolen bases (1st with 7), hits (1st with 16), runs (2nd with 12), and batting average (4th with 0.593). I am also joined by my wonderful teammate, , who placed 2nd in RBI's with 11. Highlights will be coming soon!
06/30/2022 I am honored to be selected to play for the Blue Team in the Colorado Sparklers 14U Future Stars game alongside my teammate, Emma French. The game was televised through AthletesGoLive, which was a first for me. I went 1 for 2 with a run, ran a fast time of 2.78 sec on my soft slap, and it was an incredible experience to play with and against the best players in the country. Thank you to my coaches for nominating me and the selection committee for picking me.
This was a surprise to me, but I am honored to be selected to the 2nd Team of the "All-Bay Area News Group Softball Team". I'm glad to be joined by both Emma French (travel teammate, ) and Paige McLeod (high school teammate, ). The photo is edited to just show my teammates and I, but you can find the full article at "https://www.mercurynews.com/2022/06/17/high-school-softball-2022-all-bay-area-news-group-honors/".
Thank you to everyone involved for their votes of recognition, and thank you to my parents, coaches, and trainers for believing in me and helping me continuously get better.
Here's my Zoom into June showcase recap. There were 120 14U teams with around 1,700+ players, and I managed to make it onto the leaderboards for stolen bases, hits, and batting average. My team finished 2nd in Pool C, while facing other top teams. We placed 10th in team batting average and 21st in ERA. I am also joined on the individual leaderboards by my incredible teammate, , who stood alone atop the homerun leaderboard and tied for 5th in RBI's.
Here's a photo dump from the Zoom into June showcase in SoCal. Thank you to for taking all these wonderful pictures!
05/30/2022 This one's a little late getting out because I had to take care of business with finals this past week. My team won the "All American Memorial Day Classic" last weekend, going 9-0. I'll get out some highlights in a day or so.

I came home after my workout at California Strength, and look what I found taped to my garage door! I can't help but suspect some of my wonderful teammates, who are also in leadership, are behind this. Love ya!
We had our team banquest on 05/15/2022, and I was honored to receive a few awards. I received a varsity letter, a GPA award, the offensive player of the year award, and my favorite, a "Most Likely" award from my wonderful senior teammates. I'm going to miss you all, and I want to thank you for being so great to a noob freshie like me. Good luck in college, and visit often!
Here's a photo dump of some of my current and former travel ball teammates as I've played them during our freshman high school season. I'm looking forward to playing with and against you over the summer!
I sent my first softball glove to one of my dad's best friend's (Uncle Mike) daughter, Zoey, because she just started playing, and I got this wonderful thank you note in return a while back. She's so cute! Thank you Uncle Mike for working with me on my fielding. I hope Zoey is enjoying softball.
On 05/14/2022 at California Strength, I did a double on back squat at my prior max of 80 kg/176.37 lbs. I guess it's time for a new max! Thanks to Matt Esparza for training me today.
Here's a photo dump of some of my former and current travel ball teammates that I've either played or watched during our freshman high school season. I'm so glad everyone is doing well!
This past week was full of amazing memories with some incredible new teammates and hopefully lifelong friends. It was my first official week on the San Ramon Valley High School Varsity Softball team, we had our first scrimmage and win against Antioch, and I had my first hits, stolen bases, and runs of my high school career. Go Wolves!
Thank you for a great camp today! I was able to get pictures with and Tatum Anzaldo ( #3). I learned a few new skills today that I'll be working on mastering, so the next time they see me, I can learn something new. Until next time.
On 02/01/2022, I made a new PB of 70 kg (154.32 lbs) on cleans . I think the shirt I received from the Stanford Softball camp on 01/08/2022, gave me some extra power! Thanks to for training me today.
On 01/28/2022, I made a new PB of 45 kg (99.21 lbs) on sn**ch . That's a 5 kg (11.02 lbs) increase since 10/18/2021. wasn't trying to have me max today. He just had me work up to a weight that looked comfortable, which happened to be a new PB. I believe my actual max is a bit higher. Keep grinding!
STRENGTH TRAINING: Here are a couple lifts from my workout on 01/18/2022. Failure happens to everyone. It helps me understand my current limits and motivates me to break those limits in the future. Thanks for all the support and for teaching me how to fail safely!
Here are a few pictures from the Stanford softball camp yesterday with 2 of my teammates, Emma French () and Matea Muraoka (). It was lot of fun and a great experience. The campus and facilities are amazing, and the coaches and players have established a culture so similar to my travel team, Universal Macias 14U (), that it felt like home. Thank you so much to the Stanford coaches and players () for an incredible day. Go Stanford!
On 12/03/2021, I made a new PB of 69 kg (152.12 lbs) on cleans . That's a 4 kg (8.82 lbs) increase since 10/29/2021. I took a week off training during Thanksgiving week, after the Fall softball season ended. I felt noticeably stronger after the break, so the rest must have helped. I have to remind myself sometimes that rest/recovery is part of training.
On 10/29/2021, I made a new PB of 80 kg (176.37 lbs) on back squats . It's been about a month or 2 since I last maxed on back squats, but I managed to improve by 5 kg.
