To Our Diocesan Family:

It is with a heavy heart that I write to you regarding the tragic death of Eliza Fletcher. Liza is well known to many in the Episcopal community in West Tennessee and we grieve along with her family, friends and colleagues. Your prayers have meant so much to members of the Fletcher, Orgill and Wellford families, and we appreciate the efforts of all who have participated in the investigation. While gratefully acknowledging the outpouring of support they have received, the family requests privacy at this time while they mourn this tremendous loss. There will be opportunities to support Liza's family in the coming weeks and months.

At times like this, words seem insufficient to express the range of emotions we are feeling. However, we are not alone in our grief – Christ’s heart breaks along with ours. Even in the midst of tragedy, as people of faith we believe in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection to eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ. May Liza’s soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace and rise in glory.
