Restaurants use massive amounts of energy and water, they ship products in from all over the world, and they generate tremendous amounts of food and packaging waste. We help restaurants reduce the negative impacts made through this process, while increasing the positive ones. All restaurants participating in our program make significant commitments towards operating sustainably, and deserve your s
upport. Each restaurant we work with has gone through an extensive evaluation covering criteria from the following five categories:
1. Energy and Water Efficiency
3. Waste Reduction and Recycling
4. Employee Training and Development
5. Community Engagement
Evaluations are conducted by a committee of experts from Ecofficiency.Org, OC Food Access Coalition, area Chefs from the Culinary Liberation Front, Slow Food OC, and from Orange County's energy efficiency sector. If a restaurant is lacking in any of the five categories, we provide specific recommendations and guidance for them to achieve achieve certification. Once their actions are validated, we promote them as part of a larger organizational system that will (hopefully) bring them more business!
