Comfort Bears by Tina

I made Evie's first "Papa bear" in December of 2020. He's been so loved that she just about wore him out! 💕 Then the dog decided to love him up... So I did a little surgery and gave him a new nose and eye 😊. She also has a new "Papa bear" to love up and take along on all her adventures. To say that the pick up was emotional is an understatement! Evie had Mom and I in tears right along with her. This is why I love my job. Thank you for making my day Heather and Evie!!

It's been awhile since I updated pricing and such. So I thought I'd answer a couple of frequently asked questions.
1. Price?
A: Bears (18" or 15") and Dogs are $40 each, 16" pillow is $25, embroidery $5 per. Shipping is available at customer expense.
2. How much material is needed?
A: One piece of adult clothing per bear.
3. Best material?
A: Something with a little "give" works best. T-shirt, sweatshirt, pajamas, flannel...

All bears are special to me. I've made many bears from loved ones clothing and it always feels like the loved one is with me. Sometimes people I never met hang out and help make sure the bears made from their clothes look nice 💕 I love hearing stories about my customers loved ones. These bears were from a lady that made beautiful quilts, something I have wanted to do since I was a kid and our neighbor "Faye" had quilting b's at her home. I'm sure she guided me through the sewing process and the results are pretty good in my opinion! 😂

When my cousin lost his beautiful wife I knew I needed to make him a bear to bring a bit of comfort. When he sent me the shirt from the dog rescue she volunteered at I had to measure it against the puppy pattern. I think it worked!! It made my cousin happy 🥰 which makes me happy!

These are a few other crafts I do that are popular around Christmas. Prices on picture. Rocking chair is about 5" tall and decorations vary, heart is 4.5", Angel is 7". Chair is perfect for the rascal that visits in December!!

Ahhh September which leads to October then November and then... Christmas!! In hopes of making as many memory bears, dogs, monkeys and pillows as you all need ❤ please get your orders in as soon as possible, I know times are hard and money is tight. I've tried to keep the price the same to make them affordable for everyone. Animals are $40 each, pillows start at $25. Embroidery is available at $5 per. Small heart shaped stuffed ornaments are $7. I've had a few requests for a puppy so... Comfort Pets might be our new name! :)

There have been many special requests to customize a bear and I thought the pocket was genius until I was asked to make a tie! I surprise myself sometimes 😄. Grandpa Bear is super dapper ❤️ Grandma is no slouch, precious lady is made from a sweater from the 1880's 💕
I'm sure they'll be loved as much as I loved making them!! I'd like to think Gram and Pa are happy too!!

The red plaid bear (Pa) and blue stripe (Jimbo) were made for me by our campground Ma, Marilyn (and my inspiration for Comfort Bears) ❤️. The middle bear is one I made from Mom's shirt, one I loved to wear too. :) I always say I'm Blessed to be able to make them. I realized that phrase comes from my Grandma Ree. Anytime you asked how she was, she would answer "I'm so Blessed". I feel her near me, guiding me as I sew these wonderful blessings. 🐻 There are many times I get emotional while sewing. Hugging a bear really does help 🤗. I hope you all have a beautifully blessed Easter weekend ☺️

Sometimes words aren't enough. This sweet bear is in memory of my Uncle Joe. He was the fun loving, family oriented, always smiling guy who shared a birthday with my Dad ❤️ I'm blessed to bring Aunt Muggs a bit of comfort and something to hug and hold. All bears are stuffed with love, this one was loved more ❤️❤️❤️

I've been trying my hand at t-shirt quilts. After making this for my Sister, I learned about a few improvements I could make. Currently working on another made from all drag race t's! I'll post pictures when it's done!

Happy to announce a new feature available for Comfort Bears! I am now able to embroider on them :) for an additional $10 per bear I will embroider this kind of information on the feet. Or if you have something in mind we can discuss it. Embroidery will be done on solid color linen fabric.

Bear prices will increase to $40.00 ea. starting October 1st, 2021.

Sometimes the bears are personal...
Last week I made bears for my bff's family after the loss of her Mom (sassy, classy and a little bad assy). Our daughter (ours because I consider her mine :)) didn't tell her it was coming ❤️ and I received this picture and an awesome message about how the smell of mom is bringing her comfort. ❤️

I have a full on craft room, but this is where I sew Comfort Bears. I can watch the kids play out front and never miss my soap opera (I gotta know if Sonny and Nina get together) lol!! I love my custom table my brother in-law Herbert Monroe made me ❤️

Recently I had the great privilege of making bears for a family that lost their Papa. Weston, who is 5, really took it hard and I knew he couldn't wait long for his bear. I sent it out asap and am truly blessed to know a stuffed bear made from his Papa's shirts is helping him get through and is never far away ❤️💜❤️
As I count my blessings, I count Comfort Bears twice ❤️❤️
