Midwest Amateur Championship

The 2024 Midwest Amateur Championships has a new Tournament Director, Cade Garrelts. Cade has been the Asst, TD the last few years and he is ready to step up and make the MAC an even better event.

We are one week away from the Midwest Amateur Championships and we are going to host 3 seperate days of a special edition F3 PDGA Flex Start C Tier. These events are open to all players, regardless if you are playing the MAC or not. Each event will play the MAC layout with all of the Out of Bounds and pin locations in place.

All three events will be from 10-3p (Notice the different times, from normal F # events.)

Monday July 17th - Cedar Ridge
Tuesday July 18th - Shawnee Mission Park
Wednesday July 19th - Heritage Park

I have been working with Michael Barnard for the past several years creating various stamps and designs. It was with no exception, that I asked him to work with me on the 2023 Midwest Amateur Championships PDGA A Tier in Kansas City.

This design showcases the UnderPar Frog playing badminton over the Kansas City Skyline, with various Kansas City landmarks in the background. The shuttlecock used throughout the image symbolizes the Nelson-Atkins museum.

These are now live on our new website in both SuperColor and Full Foil. 50 of each where made. About half of the SuperColor are held back for the event itself.

Don't forget today is players pack pick up at RoKC in Olathe from 2-7:30p.

All players are also included in the RoKC Putting Championships presented by Dynamic Discs Kansas City. The winner of both the MA1 and FA1 Division will win a Dynamic Discs portable recruit basket.

If are not playing the MAC or want to go more than once, it is just $5.

Want to play for Cash, all players Pro and Am are invited to compete for $5. The winners of the MPO and FPO putting division will win half the cash.

Tomorrow starts the 2022 Midwest Amateur Championships. Everything is ready to rock and roll and for you to shoot some HOT rounds tomorrow.

The most current course details are attached. If you have printed them, please replace them with these. These are good guidelines, however, the official details are on the PDGA scoring page. If there are any discrepancies between these course details and the PDGA scoring, the PDGA scoring takes priority. The details sheets indicate distance and par, and the PDGA scoring indicates, distance, par, and basket color. If there is a discrepancy with these details, the basket color as indicated on the pdga scoring takes priority.

I have gone through these many times and I really don't feel you will find any discrepancies, but if you do, the pdga scoring is always right.

Once again make sure you bring a TON of water with you to keep hydrated and not risk any changes of dehydration.

Tomorrow from 2-7:30p is Players Package Pick up at RoKC in Olathe ( 654 N Central St, Olathe, KS 66061) and is also the RoKC Putting Championships presented by Dynamic Discs Kansas City.

Every player who is participating in the MAC gets a Free entry to compete. If you are not competing in the MAC or have a friend who wants to play, they can for $5. You can play as many times as you want for $5 per round.

There is also a cash round for $5 per round.

Good Morning and welcome to MAC Week,

Below are a lot of the details you need to know prior to the event including the schedule of events. First, let me introduce myself and your Director of Competition. My name is Scott Reek and I am your Event Director. I am the one who has created everything up to this point. I would like to introduce you to Cade Garrelts, who is your Director of Competition. He is on this email and he is who you would contact if you have questions about the competition. Specifically, he is the man once we start to play on Friday.

Players Package Pick Up
For those players who selected to receive the player's package, there are two days you are able to pick them up. If you do not pick them up on those two days, you probably will not receive your player's package or you will have to make other arrangements.

Check-In
Please physically check in with your Course Director no later than 20 minutes prior to your start time. If you are there earlier, please still check in as it helps the directors prepare your group.

Scoring
We will be officially doing live scoring at www.pdga.com/score and we will require a second scorecard for each group which can either be paper, udisc or pdga scoring. That code will be given during your players meeting prior to your tee-off time.

Water
It is going to be very hot during the competition and although we will do what we can to make sure you have water options, please go to the event as if you know we will not have any water. Bring extra water. When I say extra, I mean gallons or a case of water in a cooler in your car. Bring 3 to 4 or more bottles with you on the course. I can't stress enough how important it is to make sure you bring plenty of water.

Registration is closed, which means even if the event is not full, we are not accepting any more registrations. If you have to cancel, please do it before Wednesday.

Many of the division caps have been adjusted based on registration. Registrations are still coming in frequently. I will adjust the division caps as needed. Be aware, that just because a division looks like it has space today, doesn't mean it will tomorrow, if the caps get adjusted again.
