We did it! Between us we swam 30KMs to raise money for "Onco Swim". (Research to prevent breast cancer.)
It wasn't the "relaxing day with sun and calm sea" that I'd planned...Quite choppy at times (don't think I've ever felt sea sick swimming before). And cold at times!
It was a challenge! (That I enjoy even more now that I'm warm and relaxed LOL!)

Hey! Summer is around the corner and it’s a time of joy (summer vibes) but also “eek” for many people.
What you gonna wear at the beach? Or even out and about. It’s difficult to hide in a baggy sweater when the August sun is beating down. What you really want to do if feel awesome in a bathing suit and jumping into the cool refreshing pool or sea.
Just you don’t! And no.
Next you start to beat yourself up because you should know better. You should do better. You should look after yourself.
You know it’s not rocket science. Eat more healthily. Move a bit more.
You just can’t seem to do it.
And that makes you frustrated.
I see you! And you’re totally not alone.
The way I put it is you don’t have a knowledge gap, you have a “doing gap”.
There are many reasons why you have a “doing gap”. Busy life, other commitments and responsibilities.
But most of all habits.
Habits are things that we do without thinking about them.
They might support your health and weight loss goal:
Go for a walk around the block out of habit.
Or they might sabotage your health and weight loss goal:
Sit down after dinner, turn on the TV and reach for some nibbles out of habit.
Beat yourself up because you want to lose weight but you don’t do the stuff you think you should out of habit.
I have exciting news for you!
My new program is all about building in small and easy habits!
We’ll work on one small habit each week for 4 weeks so by the beginning of summer you’ll have 4 new habits.
I’m NOT promising you’ll lose ALL the weight by then. (For starters it depends how much you have to lose.)
I’m NOT promising you’ll have a beach perfect body by then.
I’m NOT promising these are the only changes you need to make to lose all the weight and get to “healthy amazing you”.
What I am promising is that if you take action you’ll start to believe in yourself and that you can do it.
You’ll increase your motivation.
You’ll be excited to start the journey.
You’ll find the new habits easy and doable.
And those little tweaks will add up to a powerful shift!

Cancer is something that has an impact on all of our lives. We are a group of six ladies who have decided to participate in the Oncoswim on 1st June 2024. This is a 30 km open water swimming challenge whose principal objective is to raise funds for clinical research into triple negative breast cancer, an extremely aggressive subcategory of breast cancer, which mainly affects younger women. This research is essential to try to find a cure and save lives. All donations, large or small will be gratefully received and can be made online using the following link.
