RPG Daily With Richard Quiner
Ever want to be a Game Master but didn't know where to start? Welcome to your road map! I'm Richard
Forever DMs can understand the excitement I feel for tonight. One of my players .crafter.livestream is running a Halloween one shot and I get to play!!!
So let me introduce Kearney Battlehammer (of course he was names after THAT Battlehammer) former soldier turned Cleric turned CleRanger, or Rangeric? I get a chance to multiclass two classes I had never thought of combining before.
Kearney is a storyteller at heart (probably should have multiclassed into a bard) he loves to talk about his time in the army and the machinations he and his compatriots would get up to. I'm sure to annoy the dm at least once tonight.
The other amazing part about tonight is that I made Kearney before I started my homebrew world of Yyndear, and this is my chance to bring him in to 5h3 world. As a cleric he is a worshiper of Jahaan, the only deity in the current age of my world. A deity that's was created by one of my other players for his character, and I'm gonna run with it!
Today is your last chance to get 3d printed models at a discounted price and help out a long time community member The Pickled Dragon. be sure to check out the store! and use the code GETPICKLED on checkout! https://www.etsy.com/shop/adventuresin3d
(7/31) The last two days were larger maps so I took it easy today, a small tower that is Actually a rocket ship from Candlekeep Mysteries, the concept gave me some interesting campaign ideas even though the map itself is relatively simple.
(6/31) Xanathar's Lair Second Level. I got a better handle on Shadows in this one and making creative use of the assets to create different items. To me, it was a bigger step in the right direction learning to make better maps!
(5/31) And Done, Level 1 of Xanathar's Lair from Waterdeep: Dragon Heist. I made a good effort to make use of terrain textures. shadows, and Lighting. Tomorrow I Plan on creating the Level 2 of the Lair. lets see how it goes.
(4/31) Ok so with this map i bit off a lot more than I can chew right now! Xanathar's Lair from Waterdeep Dragon Heist is massive! An i made it harder on myself by making the grid at 5 feet per square instead of 10 feet per square like the original art. Either way this was a lof of experimentation with wall shapes and lighting, but tomorrow I plan on revisiting the flooring to make it a little more interesting and figure out how to make some cool looking 2/3rd circle stairs!
(3/31) A little later today for this one but here is Van Richten's Tower! Multilevel maps create their own unique problems compared to single level. I really struggled with the shadows on this one but I think part of that is becuase I was hungry. Enjoy!
(2/31) The Harrn Mausoleum is a small location within the Book of the Raven Module. The horse skeletons in the main entry create a cozy, inviting ambiance.
(1/31) A Map! The Amberdune Hideout from Candlekeep mysteries. Getting better at making maps takes practice and effort so this is a first of many. As I recreate maps from the Dnd Modules and create some for my own homebrew adventures. You can download some High Quality versions right here! https://bit.ly/2V0yWXG
Matt aka has been a force of good in the Tabletop RPG Community for years! He's always been out there supporting this amazing community while creating his own amazing content and adventures. A few years back Matt became paralyzed from the chest down. His attitude through adjusting to his new life has been inspiring to see. But now for his comfort and safety Matt is moving to warmer climates and is hoping to get his new home wheelchair accessible so he can get back to leading a normal life with his family.
So let's raise them some money. Of course the best way is to donate directly to his gofundme. the shortened link to that is in the post. It is case sensitive so make sure you type it correctly.
The next best thing is the Pickled Dragon Accessibility Fundraiser! Through the month of July you can purchase some nice 3D printed Miniatures at a discount and help Matt in the process. Go to the Adventures in 3D etsy shop (URL in the post). Use the code GETPICKLED to get 20% off, the profits from all sales using the code will be donated to Matt's home accessibility fund!
But theres more. If you spend $100 or more, you will be entered to win one of three Magnetic dice boxes from Mages Mystic Emporium (URL in the Post)
AND at the end of July the person who has made the largest purchase, thus sending the most money to Matt will get a Customized Magnetic Dice Box from Mages Mystic Emporium.
So you get minis, a chance to win a dice box, and help support Matt's move in the process. That sounds like a win-win-win to me!
And Submitted! I procrastinated writing up my entry to the Dungeon Master Challenge, but I got it done and submitted. It was almost disheartening seeing how many amazing DMs are entering. But I know that you can never know what will happen and the only surefire way to fail is by not trying. So fingers crossed and good luck to everyone who entered!
Today I wanted to point out a fellow creator whom I've been watching for a long while has been creating really insightful content here on Instagram for a while now and I highly recomend you check out his write ups and magic items, He's got some really great advice and I find myself enjoying the times I run across one of his more extensive explainer pieces! Thanks for all your work dude!
