One more thing I'd like to say on this subject. It took me 33 years to realize that we cannot pour from an empty cup. It is only when we take care of ourselves that we can take care of others and our world. If sound baths aren't your thing, that's understandable (but if you enjoy music, you should try it, because you've invested a lot of time cultivating those audio neural connections!). Then go for a walk outside, get a massage, call a friend, put on a sad song and cry. It takes time and energy to take care of your needs, but it's why you came here, to grow and develop your consciousness. To not just experience love, but to foster it inside yourself. You can only love others as much as you love yourself, after all.

Happy Friday my friends. I have something special to give you. I helped Chrissy Kirkwood aka Rhythm Bird Music of Music Monastery : A Spiritual Home For Artists produce a mantra recording of Om Gam. It's a bare bones production, but just listening to this livens my spirit and brings me peace. I hope it does the same. You could translate this mantra as "Salutations to the Remover of Obstacles". I'm putting together a new ensemble focused on applying the principles of sound healing in a collaborative context! I'm very excited to share one of these pieces, "As Above, So Below". This ancient hermetic philosophy refers to the idea that what we perceive is a reflection of our internal consciousness and vice-versa. When we feel a response to a friend's smile, an angry political post, or a sunset, these are reflections not of them, but of ourselves. With this mindset, and a great deal of courage, our triggers can be our greatest teachers. It is my hope that this melody inspires such courage in you and your beautiful heart!

Welcome to Sun Blink Sounds! My name is John Paul. I am a sound healing practitioner here in Nashville TN. My sound baths are a little different than others. I incorporate my acoustic bass, an instrument I've been playing professionally for 15 years, as well as guitars and ukuleles. The world is filled with so much pain, fear and suffering. I hope to use my heart and skills to heal and serve where I can.
