It is with great joy that we share with you the birth of Nicole’s passion: Aveta Midwifery (pronounced AV-ta), named after a Gallo-Roman mother goddess. We’ll be transitioning through March from Harmony to Aveta, but you can get a glimpse by looking at Avetamidwifery.ca. Your care will continue to be provided by the same midwives at the same location with the same phone numbers, just under the banner of Aveta. And did I mention there will be a new couch?? Thanks for inviting us to be with you at this amazing time in your lives! ❤️

Dear Kids, When I fail… 28/02/2018

“We will figure it out together.”

Have you thought of your back-up plan yet? ❤️

All parents have days when they try everything and the baby is still crying. They are exhausted and absolutely at their limit.

So what’s your back up plan?

Is there someone you can call to come over and take the baby for a walk or who will just talk to you and reassure you over the phone? Is there a local waiting to welcome you to a meeting?

Pulling up the drawbridge ⋆ Don't Buy Her Flowers 29/01/2018

“Not one looked back and wished she’d done MORE.” Take good care in the early days...

Pulling up the drawbridge ⋆ Don't Buy Her Flowers One afternoon a few weeks after I had Buster, my first baby, I called my mum and cried the second I heard her voice. I wailed ‘I’m just so tiiiiiiiiiiired’. It had all come as a bit of a shock you see – the lack of sleep, the aching body, the leaking and the wild …

To all of your beautiful hearts in the Mothering Your Heart Community -

It has been awhile since I've posted here so I wanted to check in and say hello, and that I hope you have some down time planned for yourself over the next few weeks in whatever form will be most respectful of your needs and abilities.

In the spirit of making time for reflection and rest I have put together a holiday support workshop as a gift for the community, either for yourself if you are interested or for anyone you know who has experienced infertility, baby or child loss.

Please share this post with your networks or with any friends or loved ones who you think could use support at this difficult time of year.

It is a simple and nourishing event which aims to provide some moments of calm in the midst of your busy days, a place where you can spend time with your heart and attending to some really basic self care.

Because we will be in a private workshop space you can also spend time there if you would like to take a little break from all that is happening on the social media sites.

The workshop is running now through January 2nd. It is online, easily accessible and you can join anytime, there is no cost, and nothing is required except the desire to take a few deep breaths and find some moments of peace for yourself.

To learn more please visit: https://www.motheringyourheart.com/

With love to you and wishes for some calm days and peaceful nights ahead.

xoxo Shannon

To all clients: use the “urgent line” phone number when calling the on-call midwife. Please don’t call a number back.

It’s come to our attention that the number we’re calling from sometimes appears on your call display (despite us blocking our numbers). We switch call at any and all times for any and all reasons, and we want you to connect to the right person!! Thanks!!
