Hi! I am an eager citizen involved with numerous city functions over the past 5 years!
Not the result we wanted but appreciate all the votes that did come through. Congrats to David for a hard fought campaign and a job well done.
Thanks again for your support, love seeing how many people went out and vote. Have a great night!
Voted! Kearney I hope you get out and do the same! If you have any final questions or comments you want to ask me feel free to always find me with my friends at Fulfillment House! Have a great day!
Today is the day! Make sure you get out there and vote at your location! Polls will be open beginning at 6am until 7pm. EACH VOTE COUNTS! Make sure you go out and share your opinions. Let's work together to keep making Kearney better!
I'd like to take a moment to highlight some of the organizations and service opportunities I've been involved with during my time in Kearney. I quickly immersed myself in various initiatives, thanks to my collaboration with non-profits. This involvement extended beyond city committees to encompass schools and other civic organizations throughout the town. In my previous role at a non-profit, I facilitated the acquisition of new resources for Kearney, including federal funding that supported low-income housing for over 350 households.
Why do I aspire to serve on the city council? Simply put, I wish to continue this impactful work. I aim to explore new avenues for funding, engage more citizens in the process, and collaborate to shape the future of Kearney in alignment with our collective vision. While my background has provided valuable insights, I recognize there is always more to learn.
Tomorrow marks a significant day! I encourage you to exercise your right to vote and share YOUR opinion on the future of our community!
Curious about some of my goals if elected to your local city council? Firstly, I believe we need to prioritize supporting new economic development. With the upcoming addition of the 19th Street Interstate, new businesses are poised to emerge. This growth presents an opportunity for us to strategically plan, support, and organize Kearney's development for years to come. Furthermore, these new businesses will generate additional funding streams for the city, enabling us to support future initiatives, amenities, and innovative ideas.
Moreover, I am convinced that Kearney is ripe for expanding opportunities for our youth and enhancing educational resources. By collaborating closely with our exceptional school district, we can achieve this and set our youth on a trajectory toward a bright future.
Let's join forces as a community to realize the aspirations of our citizens! Feel free to share your vision for Kearney. Remember to cast your vote TOMORROW!
Many people inquire about my decision to run for alderman. My response is always straightforward: "To represent the great citizens of Kearney." Upon our arrival in 2019, I immediately developed an affection for this town. From spirited home football games to cozy family-owned restaurants, Kearney fulfilled all the criteria for our expanding family. One of the primary objectives of my tenure on the city council is to maintain low taxes. As the upcoming election approaches, there is a proposal to increase taxes—an initiative I do not support. While town amenities are vital, I am eager to explore alternative fiscal avenues to alleviate the burden on our residents, rather than resorting to tax hikes. Furthermore, alongside fiscal prudence, public safety remains a top priority for me. Over the years, I have forged relationships with our local law enforcement officers, and I am committed to continuing my support for them to ensure the ongoing prosperity of our community. Remember to cast your vote on April 2nd, 2024, and have your say in the future of our city!
Well Kearney we passed out a bunch of these on doors today! If you didn't get one I apologize, as we only had a small team putting them out. Attached you can see some of my goals for you and our fellow citizens. If you need any flyers that you want to pass out in these last few days just let me know and I will get them to you as soon as I can!
I hope everyone has a great rest of their Easter weekend!
Lyla and Nicole came and helped deliver flyers door to door for the last couple of hours. I think we are going to give them a break for a job well done! Who knew she would be apart of a campaign so young!
Here is a sample ballot for Tuesday if you live in Ward 2! Only thing missing is your vote! Make sure you research all the candidates running and get information from the City of Kearney, MO for their questions as well! Hope you get out and vote on April 2nd!
Hi Kearney, for those of you who don’t know me my name is Kurt Hamilton and I am running to serve as Alderman for our local City Council. I wanted to share a little more about me and why I am running. I have lived in Kearney since 2019 and instantly fell in love with our town. From the businesses to the restaurants I quickly envisioned raising a family here. I quickly got involved in many community organizations such at non-profits, city committees, and serving for our local school district. Each giving me valuable experience and insight on what is happening behind the scenes in our community. Now in 2024, I feel like I can help make a difference from what I have learned. As a local business leader, I work and live here daily and want to continue to support our town. To do that I plan on making sure our city budgets are fiscally responsible, attract economic opportunities, and grow Kearney with the citizens input every step of the way. Together we can continue to create a community with a small town charm, preserve local history, stay safe, and continue to improve the quality of life for all ages. Make sure you get out and vote on April 2nd, and I look forward to seeing you around town!

Tonight on Kearney Live, we are talking to Kurt Hamilton and Ashton King and getting their insights as they run for the Kearney Board of Aldermen on April 2. Listen to what they have to say today at 5 pm on 102.7FM, 1027KearneyMO.com or our Facebook and YouTube channels.
A lot of people have asked me why I am running for this local alderman position. I just wanted to share more about why I am doing what I am doing!
For the past five years, I have been a resident of Kearney with the Kearney Enrichment Council (KEC), a local non-profit that focuses on improving the quality of life for our entire community. Ever since the beginning of my job back in 2019, I focused on adding more to our community with things such as new events, Kearney's Oktoberfest and Magical Night Lighted Christmas Parade, expanding resources for low-income families and children, and even expanding on existing programming for youth and seniors. Through those experiences, I learned a lot about our community, in addition to items that we are still needing, and improving on. Our organization is one that works very closely with our local City of Kearney, which made me more familiar with their policies, practices, and information.
Now I want to serve the community more in this new way! I have left my position at the KEC and started a new chapter at Fulfillment House as their new Executive Director. This allows me to still manage a local non-profit organization while advocating the same kinds of programs that I helped start over the past several years. As a local business owner, I am in this community every day and interact with our citizens, business owners, and representatives. I plan on just doing that if elected to serve for our local community.
I have always believed in working for the community I live in, and I intend to do just that! I would love to hear your thoughts on what Kearney is still needing, and how I could possibly help better service our community. I also wanted to share that Nicole (my wife) and I expanded our family by one this past week. We wanted to welcome our daughter Lyla Grace to our campaign team as well! :)
