Happy 17th Birthday April.
You are never forgotten.

Well little star, sweet dreams. 11 years. Isn’t it strange how Monday 1st October 2012 feels like only yesterday at times, yet so long ago all in one breath. Your little life touched so very many people, leaving the smallest footprints on many people’s heart. The people who love you the most got 5 years of pure love, laughter and smiles, beautiful memories they shall treasure forever. Although, life was unfair, taken way before your time your little life was full. Seeing the photographs and videos of you with family, friends and even animals, just living life to the fullest, always. Shine bright, you will never forgotten April.

11 years! 4,018 days without you... As we mark today it is evident that the support and love shown for April and her beloved family is still as strong as that Monday evening on October 1, 2012. April was a smart, bubbly girl who was always smiling and laughing, living life to the fullest. She was happiest surrounded by family and when playing outdoors.

Always remembered April, never forgotten.

A little memory of April making cakes with her big sister Jazmin, never forgotten. Hope you all had a lovely Easter with your families.

Happy heavenly birthday April. You should be turning SIXTEEN today! I know your family would have the biggest party planned and the sweetest cake. You are loved and missed by all who love you April. I am sure you are with them always, right by their side.

We remember your love of baking with Jazmin, the love for outdoors and adventures with Harley, your love for muddy puddles with friends and trips with family to Blackpool and the Zoo. We remember you for being happy, fun and full of life. Your love for peppa, your dogs and princesses to name a few. You left some incredible memories and moments that your family and friends can hold with them until they see you again. Sweet dreams April, never forgotten.

Blackpool, a place families gather to make memories with their children. A place personally my own family loved and visited yearly. *

Charlene Downes was just 14 years old when she disappeared on November 1st, 2003. It came to light that Charlene was a victim of sexual abuse both in her home and out in the streets of Blackpool. Today 19 years later, that same grooming and exploitation is happening down the dark alleys of Blackpool. Behind the bright lights and cheerful families hides a dark secret within.

We believe not enough action has been taken to tackle child sexual abuse and exploitation in Blackpool, and that victims remain vulnerable to abuse.

Well little star, 10 years on. I didn’t want today to pass without writing to you, but I at the same time don’t have much to say. I remember this night 10 years ago, the community and out with were outstanding in trying to bring you home safe, the conditions they worked through to search but yet they carried on in hope of bringing you back to those who loved you. Machynlleth is for sure a place where community is strong, the people have so much love for one another, that being evident.

The town days on showered with pink ribbons as a symbol of hope. Stories and pictures of a clearly much loved, longed for and happy girl. 10 years on we focus on positivity and light and remember you for you. We remember April, the girl who was full of life. A community although moved on will forever be impacted by your loss.

I hope a world changed through your death with awareness of the dangers of indecent images of children through your family and their friends work to raise vital awareness of April’s Law. Although not passed in law I believe through the campaign we opened eyes of people.

You April, we promise will never be forgotten. Although tears will be shed today for you should be here, we smile because of what you left behind. Memories that can be treasured forever by those you loved.

10 years! 3,652 days without you... As we mark today it is evident that the support and love shown for April and her beloved family is still as strong as that Monday evening on October 1, 2012.

April was a smart, bubbly girl who was always smiling and laughing, living life to the fullest. She was happiest surrounded by family. April loved riding her bicycle, learning at such a young age because it enable her to get around when walking was difficult. She enjoyed baking cupcakes with her big sister Jazmin and had an evident love for animals from her beloved pet dogs to horses. With friends April loved to jump in muddy puddles like Peppa Pig. April loved Rapunzel and in her last day she watched the movie with a friend before going to play. Today, I know marks 10 years since the tragedy that was April’s disappearance but let’s remember April today as a happy, loving girl.

So full of life and that shouldn’t be forgotten. Smile today, for April was always smiling and laughing.
