2 Sep ‘21 ❤️❤️FLIRT IS HOME SAFE ❤️❤️ Flirt had been seen a couple times near where she was lost so a trap and camera were set. She was then seen a cross the road at a farm but when they got there she was nowhere to be seen. Flirt’s owner parked her van at the end of the driveway and decided to sleep in it over night where she was lost from and left the door open. Once the area was quiet and Flirt got close enough she was able to smell her owner in the van and hopped in waking her when she got in her lap !! Flirt seems a bit sore and very tired but otherwise in good condition. Good job finding Mom Flirt !!

The following is a video of the moments prior to Gemma coming to her owner. Please note that the owner was with their other dog that was bonded with Gemma, she stayed still, made no sudden movements, did not yell or scream for Gemma just spoke in her Momma’s voice. If you watch closely you will see when Gemma finally flipped the switch and recognizes her owner, she barks and then wags her tail. We know this is extremely difficult for any owner to do but it is the best chance of securing your pup safely. When advice is given from our volunteers or another teams volunteers, please listen. We don’t do this just to be heard. We do this because we have experience in these situations and want your pup to be returned to you as quickly and as safely as possible. The longer advice isn’t listened to the harder it is to secure a lost dog as they regress further and further into flight mode. Our main goal is to have the owner secure their own dog. We would rather not trap or use the snappy snare as it would be more traumatizing. Over the next few weeks our page will be sharing articles and videos on the do’s and don’t’s of how to search for and secure a lost dog. Please share the information with your dog owner family and friends. Remember, we are here to help, not hinder.
