We have noticed that our sales of physical format music (CDs in our case) have dropped quite drastically over the years, leaving us wondering if we should stop putting out CDs for future releases and resort to ‘download only’ releases.
(Vinyl is definitely not a cost-effective option at our current level so please don’t ask. Ta!)
I would be extremely grateful if anyone who is interested in us and any future Dowling Poole releases would care to take a moment to comment with their preference.

10 years ago today(16th Dec, 2012) a Prog supergroup was formed backstage at a double headliner It Bites/Frost gig (‘Frostbites’ at The Scala if you will).
It consisted of members of It Bites, Frost and Cardiacs.
To this day, we haven’t written or recorded a single note but the line up is 100% written in stone.
Left to right:
Bob Dalton, Jem Godfrey, Me, Kavus Torabi, John Mitchell and John Beck lurking below.
No need for anyone to suggest a ‘cleverly’ constructed, witty band name using elements of our previous band names.
We have a band name.
I bring you GUNWANKER.

I wasn’t gonna do one of these today (under the circumstances) but a song about flying in the face of adversity despite how bad things can sometimes get seemed appropriate.
I’m proud of coming up with this one and think it’s arguably one of our best and I love Willie’s lead vocal delivery (far more palatable than my own vocal ‘efforts’).

I have been very excited about this particular release as it encompasses all of the gems (recorded over the last 10 years) that never made it onto albums for whatever reason (NOT due to being sub-standard of course!) plus a couple of previously unreleased tracks.
All have been remixed and remastered and have never sounded better.

We’re The Dowling Poole and we’re back after the longest silence with news of a new album.
Titled ‘REFUSE’ this album features all of the ‘digital only’ tracks we have occasionally released for short periods of time, that many of you have asked us to make available on a physical format.
To add value, each track has been carefully remixed and remastered, and all are sounding better than they ever have. There are also some half-remembered thoughts and recollections (from Willie) and some actual facts and concise recalls (from Jon) included in the CD liner notes. And as an added bonus, there are also a couple of brand new unreleased tracks.
It’s worth mentioning perhaps that none of the tracks recorded during the two years of COVID peculiarities are included on REFUSE. We hope to make them available on our next release.
