So… something happened to this bearded dragon.
Hatched out completely normal, then turned into this.
Hypo pure red monster (paradox?) there’s no witblits or zero in the pairing… thoughts?

We do things a little differently around here.

These bearded dragons will be ready for new homes soon.
I will say they won’t be the cheapest bearded dragons on the market, but I can promise you 100% they will be the best.

Not only are these animals very impressive genetically, they’ve been raised in a way unlike any other bearded dragon breeder I’ve seen.
There are 35 bearded dragons in this photo. 35 individual enclosures, 35 individual heat lamps, 35 basking spots, 35 food dishes that have hand counted dubia roaches and bsfl daily.
And most importantly there are 35 perfect full length tails, and 700 perfect toes.
Every single day they get a set amount of food placed in their food dish, the next day we count the remainder and have a number for how much they ate the day prior.
Every Thursday we add up the numbers from last 7 days of eating to get a weekly total on how much they eat. Every Thursday food and water dishes get sterilized, the babies get weighed (which also gets tracked), and their cages get cleaned. This takes around 20 hours a week to maintain on top of all of the other animals.

We do things this way for a variety of reasons the main reason is so we can track the development in each individual baby. I know immediately if a baby isn’t doing well, isn’t eating, doesn’t like the specific food offered, etc. keeping these animals separate allows us a level of control and detail that wouldn’t be possible keeping these animals in large groups.
The other biggest reason is so we have cosmetically perfect animals. It is VERY common for baby bearded dragons to nip at each other’s toes and tails. Bearded dragons (even babies) can be very territorial. I’ve even seen babies with scars on their heads from getting in fights. This dominance game is obviously very stressful for the weaker babies, which usually leads to the weaker babies eating less and becoming “failure to thrive”.

What most breeders do is put the entire clutch of babies in one tub with a single basking spot, and throw food (usually cheap parasite filled crickets) into the tub and just hope all are eating.

Like I said… our animals will not be the cheapest, but they will be the best.

New video uploaded on YouTube!
We’re challenging any breeder or serious hobbyist out there to shoot a long form video like this and post it. No cuts, no edits, no fishy stuff.
If your favorite breeder won’t show their setup and surroundings, and only posts cropped videos of animals up close they’re 100% hiding something. Whether it’s an unclean setup, sick animals, crappy overall husbandry, it’s something.

It’s time to start taking pride in how we care for our animals.

The market is shifting away from customers just buying any snake, and shifting towards customers buying exclusively from breeders that they 100% trust.

Fingers are still crossed over here. This is I believe our 4th season trying to breed olive pythons. Constantly learning. Constantly trying new things to get this notoriously hard to breed species on eggs.

The funniest thing about this species, is once they breed once they will typically breed almost every season. The hard part is just getting them to breed the first time for you.

This species is super important to us at Luxor Reptiles. For those of you that don’t know, these are Australian olive pythons. The better looking cousins of Papuan olive pythons. Most of you know that Australia completely banned the export of animals from their country. When that happened, all the animals that were currently outside of Australia were all there would ever be. With a species as hard to breed as this one, we need to get them to breed to ensure hobbyists outside of Australia have access to this absolutely stunning species.

One of our newer animals. This is a wild caught female pied Tokay Gecko.
We’ve wanted to get into the tokay game for a while and have been waiting for the right animal to get us started.
This girl is absolutely stunning. Not a super terrible attitude for a wild caught tokay. She definitely has her moments of chewing on hands though.
Super excited to put in some work figuring out tokay genetics, hoping to get some babies from her in the next year. Thanks again Jimmy she’s awesome!

She will need a name, drop your suggestions below!
