Homer's Gumbo Pot
Cajun, New Orleans style Market and Deli
Hello friends,
We will have a free tasting from 1-4pm today Sunday June 30th.
Lots of items to try.
Hello Canon City. We are excited to be opening a Cajun Market in Lincoln Park.
My husband and I were both born and raised in the South. My maternal Grandmother was Cajun Italian and I grew up in the New Orleans area learning to cook Cajun and Creole meals as a regular nightly dinner.
Some folks had Taco Tuesdays. We had red beans and rice on Mondays. It's an old tradition of putting on a pot of beans and washing laundry that day. My husband has worked in Southern restaurants since he was a teenager. He has held every position there is from line cook to executive chef.
We are excited to bring home cooked Southern meals to Canon city.
We are not a full restaurant. We will sell meals precooked in multiple sizes to take home and warm up along with New Orleans snacks like Zapps, Elmer's and Pralines. We will also have dry Southern food goods that are hard to find here like Camellia red beans, Stone ground grits, jams, syrups and olive salad plus more.
There will be a daily hot plate meals packaged for Togo, with a few dine in spots. Just to start. Stay updated here for all the Happenings.
We will stock some grocery items like Bread, milk, eggs and butter etc for locals in the area that don't want to drive all the way to the big grocery stores.
We do not have a set date for a grand opening yet. Stay tuned here for more info.
