I started doing this thing where you go somewhere with no destination and makes it difficult to breath.
I think they call it running…..
“Wolves don’t lose sleep over the opinions of sheep”
Red that again…..
Live a life you won’t regret.
Workout the muscle groups that you don’t like.
Today is the day to get better.
Legs are starting to pop. Definition keep coming my way.
Up, up, and away…..
The best challenge in the gym is taking extra time to work on the things you naturally dislike.
The gym is about living in comfort, it’s about working on yourself in uncomfortable situations.
Challenge yourself.
This is what my wild and crazy weekends look like nowadays.
But man I feel good.
Some love near dies.
From my days as an athlete to now, I have always found my way to the squat rack.
I will say that I don’t love the 15 rep sets in the MAPS Strong program. It’s requiring me to use lighter weight and testing my ego as a beef cake in the gym.
Man….. I’m feeling good.
Are you?
Happy Monday my dudes!
Be you, get strong, and rock on 🤘🏼
The smile on my face had nothing to do with me being happy to be at the gym.
In all honesty I was in a mood I was pi**ed about external stuff. I was cursing and mad about some real life stuff. Big whoop, now that I’ve settled down.
Here’s the thing, I still got to the gym. I got my workout in. Sure I played my music louder and slammed heavy weight than normal because of mood.
Guess what? As I was working out my mood shifted dramatically. Just as I was cooling down on my own I looked up….
“Weak things Break”.
If that isn’t a reminder to get out of my head. Time to Boss up, ignore my bitch voice, and get strong.
That smile is one of gratitude. I’m grateful I have the power to change myself to become someone stronger mentally and physically.
Thanks to king of powerlifting Louie Simmons for the words of wisdom and for creating a space life no other.
Always makes me laugh when people tell me eating healthy means you have to starve.
In all honesty when I’m prepping or tracking my macros I eat an insane amount of food. Whole Foods are filling and you feel better after eating, not worse.
Use your food as fuel!!!
For reference this was a full to the brim bowl of salmon, avocado, rice, and cabbage. Great nutrient profile and only 630 calories.
Just a gal in an empty gym.
Recently, I’ve started a structured program for the first time since I was a college athlete and began working with a coach .
Few huge things I’ve noticed as I wrap up week 5.
1. True Structure built by experts will provide you with better results than you free falling on your own. Big DUH here…. But I’ve been lifting weights at a high level since sophomore year of high school and thought I knew better, in reality I didn’t. I don’t go to the doctors for help and tell them what I’m gonna do instead, so why did I feel this was an acceptable thing with my fitness?
2. You have to track macros to figure out what the hell your body needs as you train. Trina and I realized I was way under consuming which resulted in a lack of strength and mass gains. Even though I was working out, I wasn’t fueling myself for results.
3. You’re body is uniquely your own. Two people can work side by side, same diet, same program, and their bodies will be different. Remember the blessing it is to be you and don’t let the doubts of other creep into your head. I’m a beef cake, always been a little muscle head, it’s easy for me to gain muscle. Instead of hiding those gains I’m learning to become more proud of who I am.
Some of you know my current fitness goals, while others don’t. I will say that one day this short, stocky, muscular, and strong body I have will lead me to success. We all have our own journey. Be proud of yours.
Just gym goofin’
Remember when this used to be a trend?
Behind the curve but I’m all for it now.
Today I felt good.
It’s a new week. Same goals, new game plan, and channeling discipline instead of motivation.
are you ready for this 🤘🏼
Busy life and bad service lately.
Teamed up with my little brother for the
26/100 down. We better step it up Bo!!!
In all honesty I’m hell on wheels, tough to handle, a strong headed gal. There’s a lot behind the scenes that most don’t see about me. I will say, I like who I am, and the woman I’m becoming. At the end of the day being happy with myself is something that keeps me smiling no matter what.
I challenge you to start excepting more out of yourself daily. How can you be better than yesterday?
115 is a bit toasty for the PNW. I workout in a warehouse style gym and had to get the am workout in to beat the heat. Cheers to striving for more.
Lately I’ve been trying to get out of my comfort zone.
I’m taking the advice of my favorite podcast by upping the reps and lowering the weight.
As an ex-athlete lifting heavy is a competitive component I enjoy as an internal challenge.
Yesterday I put lighter weight on (135lb) did 5x8 set/rep and focused on my form. This is my last of the five sets.
Step out of your box. Educate yourself. Get better always!
A forgotten workout, Good Mornings!!
Good Mornings are a great builder for your posterior chain specifically your hamstrings and glutes. This can be loaded heavy and provides a great moment pattern.
