A railroad signal electrical bungalow, also known as a signal equipment enclosure, is a small building or enclosure used to house electrical and electronic equipment for railroad signal systems. These bungalows are typically located near or alongside railroad tracks and are used to store and protect sensitive equipment such as relays, switches, and other components. The bungalows are usually made of weather-resistant materials such as steel, aluminum, or fiberglass, and are designed to withstand extreme weather conditions and provide a secure environment for the equipment. They may be powered by AC or DC power supplies, and may also have backup power sources such as batteries or generators in case of a power outage.
