Here we go! Too windy on the river for SUP Skills and Drills so letā€™s roll! 9+ miles to kick off the @virginiacapitaltrail Summer Challenge on my rollerblades. Why not? I ran every mile the first year, and then ran every mile up and back the second year, so might as well mix it up this year with all the things. Plus only 5 1/2 weeks to squeeze in the 103 miles. Things I donā€™t like on rollerblades that I love when running?? Wooden bridges - oof - those were scary! But dang, those miles were pure joy!! Needed that! #captrailsummerchallenge

Donā€™t beat yourself up because you have to walk sometimes. You run when you can and walk when you need to. Does NOT invalidate you as a runner! Just take that first step and go for it - at your own pace - wherever you might be that day in YOUR journey. And guess what? You will find yourself šŸŽµrunning up that hillšŸŽµ one day and youā€™re like, wow, I CAN do it! Such a calm and beautiful evening for PaddleFit!!

Just a short glimpse into one of our paddle segments during PaddleFit. It was a beautiful morning to be out on the water - and it felt good to get in some short paddles after the looooong paddle on Friday! Muscles also appreciated the strength moves and the stretching. Just a little choppy out there tonight but @paddleonwilliamsburg PaddleFitters faced the challenge head on! . Things have been kinda crappy lately (just the usual blahs), and Iā€™ve really been diving into too many sugary and salty treats that leave me feeling even MORE crappy (and well, have packed on way too many pounds over the last 3 weeks). But, I am so thankful that I have PaddleFit to keep me going. When youā€™re the instructor, ya kinda have to show up!! Weather is looking good for our Advanced Paddle Skills and Endurance class on Thursday night at 6:30 at Chickahominy Riverfront Park Fishing Pier. Weā€™ll break down your paddle technique and work on some skill drills to make you more efficient and fast! And oh yeah, there will be some sprints!! When you completely feel terrible on the climbs (fell off my bike going uphill and walked most of them), it feels totally awesome to nail downhills and hit the little creek jump. I blame @barrymanilowswardrobe_theband for my lack of leg strength and energy to climb today - šŸŽ¶ I just canā€™t get enough šŸŽ¶ of that new wave/alternative 80s dancing!! So glad my riding buddies are patient with me when it comes to climbing. Iā€™ll cleanly ride that wall one of these days!! Just have to keep on approaching with confidence and practice, practice, practice. Totally fun ride today and so glad we got out there to play in the woods before the trails become unrideable this weekend. We all tackled new obstacles, supported and motivated each other, and yeah just had a great time!! I know Iā€™m being a cornball but it really felt awesome today.
