Analysis of SBI Clerk Online exam held on 19th and 20th July 2014
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The on-line SBI Clerical examination was conducted for the first time by SBI for the recruitment of clerks. The online exam started on 19th July 2014 and will go on till last week of August.
The snap shot of the exam is given below.

Marketing Aptitude & Computer Knowledge 40 Qs

The analysis of the on-line exam of the above mentioned sessions (19th & 20th July 2014), as reported by our students, is given below.
Quantitative Aptitude:
According to the feedback received by our students who appeared for this exam, this section can be rated as an easy one overall.
There were a total of 5 questions on DI and the students have said that these were easy. The questions on Simplifications & approximations and number series were reported to be easy yet time-consuming. Questions included here were, among others, on time and distance, time and work, mensuration, ratio, ages, averages, profit and loss, and simple and compound interest. The weightage of questions on DI (5qs), Simplifications & Approximations (10qs), Number Series(5qs) remained the same in all the four slots.

Reasoning:
The difficulty level of this section can be fixed between easy to moderate.
More emphasis was laid on puzzles, including questions on seating arrangement. There were questions on deductions and symbol / notation based Statements and Conclusions. In one of the slots, as per information received at our end, there were a few questions on coding-decoding also. The questions from Data Sufficiency were on blood relations, direction sense, and seating arrangement.

English Language:
The pattern of this section was in line with what was expected. Surprisingly, a very easy set of questions was asked in this part of the test. The students report that they were tested on their ability to answer questions on cloze test (10qs) , error identification & phrase replecement (10qs), para jumbled (5qs), synonyms / antonyms based FIB (5qs), and of course a story based reading comprehension passage (10qs).

General Awareness:
This too has been reported as an easy section by our students. Most questions asked were from GK – current and stock/static questions. Questions were asked on awards, currencies, recent appointments, and capitals of countries etc. About 1/4th of questions were on Banking.

Marketing Aptitude & Computer Knowledge:
There were equal number of questions from Marketing and Computers. The questions on Computer Knowledge were easy in all the slots where as the questions on Marketing were a little difficult. Students found it difficult to score in test area of Marketing Aptitude.

To summarise : The level of difficulty of individual sections and the paper in general was reported to be uniform – easy – throughout all slots. The entire testwas as anticipated.

Note : The analysis that is provided above is based on feedback received form T.I.M.E. Students. Students who are yet to take the test, irrespective of the feedback from students who have already taken the test, should make sure that they continue with their preparation and should not let their preparedness come down.

FIFA World Cup 2014 : Facts and Statistics

FIFA World Cup 2014 being held at Brazil concluded on 13 July 2014 with Germany winning the coveted title for the fourth time. We hereby present brief information containing facts and stats about this World Cup.

- It was the second time that Brazil hosted the FIFA World Cup, the first being in 1950.

- The World Cup matches were held in 12 cities across Brazil. 32 teams divided in eight groups (A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H) took part in the tournament.

- Bosnia and Herzegovina was the only team with no previous World Cup experience. It took part in a FIFA World Cup for the first time.

- It was the first time (since the first World Cup of 1930) that all world champion teams– Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Uruguay – qualified for this competition.

- Germany won its fourth FIFA World Cup title, the other title winning years being 1954, 1974 and 1990.

- Germany’s title win marked the first time that teams from the same continent (Europe) had won three successive World Cups(following Italy in 2006 and Spain in 2010).

- It was also the first time that a European team won the World Cup being hosted in a South American country.

- The first goal of this World Cup was a self-goal scored by Brazil’s Marcelo against Croatia on 12 June 2014.

- The last goal of this World Cup was scored by Germany’s Mario Götze against Argentina in the final on 13 July 2014.
- It was for the first time that two teams from Africa (Algeria and Nigeria) reached the last-16 stage of FIFA World Cup.

- Germany qualified for the final for the eighth time with a 7–1 win over Brazil, the biggest defeat in Brazilian history since 1920.

- Overall, Brazil conceded 14 goals in the tournament; this was themost by a team at any single World Cup since 1986, and the most by a host nation in history.

- Germany scored 18 goals in the tournament, the highest in this World Cup by any team.

- Two hat-tricks were scored in this World Cup. The first was scored by Thomas Müller for Germany against Portugal. The second was scored by Xherdan Shaqiri for Switzerland against Honduras.

- It was the first time that the goal-line technology was used in a FIFA World Cup. The first country to get benefit of goal-line technology was France, which was awarded a goal through the help of this technology on 15 June 2014 against Honduras.

- Germany set a world cup record with four consecutive semi-final appearances.

- Miroslav Klose (Germany) became the highest goal-scorer in FIFA World Cups when he scored the second goal for his country against hosts Brazil in the first semi-final on 8 July 2014. His goal tally of 16 eclipsed Ronaldo’s (Brazil) tally of 15 World Cup goals.

- Miroslav Klose (Germany) also became the first player to appear in four World Cup semi-finals.

- James Rodriguez (Colombia) finished as the highest goal scorer of FIFA World Cup 2014 with 6 goals. He was awarded the coveted ‘Golden Boot’ awarded. He was followed by Thomas Muller of Germany (5 goals) and Lionel Messi, Neymar and Robin van Persie (4 goals each)

- FIFA ‘Fair Play Trophy’ was awarded to Colombia
- Lionel Messi (Argentina) was adjudged as the best player of the tournament and was awarded the ‘Golden Ball’ trophy.

Bank of Baroda - PO Notification 2014-15

We are looking for young, qualified, mobile and active minds who can be imparted with the necessary knowledge and skills required to be good all-round bankers through the 1 year Post Graduate Diploma in Banking and Finance course in Baroda Manipal School of Banking.
On successful completion of the course within the stipulated time period, the candidate would be offered appointment in the bank as Probationary Officers in Junior Management Grade / Scale-I.
Candidates shall be selected through selection process consisting of online exam followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Admission to the 1 year full-time post graduate diploma course in Banking and Finance from Manipal University to be conducted at the Baroda Manipal school of Banking comes with the assurance of a full-fledged Banking career with Bank of Baroda on successful completion of the course.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AND GENERAL INFORMATION
Qualification (As on 16.07.2014) – Degree (Graduation) with minimum 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWD) marks in any discipline from a recognized University OR any equivalent qualification as such recognized by Central Government.
Age (As on 16.07.2014) Minimum 20 years- Maximum 28 years i.e. a candidate must have been born not earlier than 17.07.1986 and not later than 16.07.1994 (both dates inclusive)

HOW TO APPLY
Candidates can apply online only from 30.06.2014 to 16.07.2014 through the link in the careers page of the Bank’s website www.bankofbaroda.com and no other mode of application will be accepted.
Pre-Requisites for Applying Online
Before applying online, candidates should--
(i) Scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph and signature are within the required specifications as given in Annexure-I of the Advertisement.
(ii) Keep the necessary details/documents ready to make online payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges.
(iii) have a valid personal e-Mail ID. It should be kept active during the currency of this selection exercise. Under no circumstances, he/she should share/ mention his / her e-Mail ID to/ or of any other person.
