🎄 HOLIDAY CHECK IN. 🎄
Some people think this is the most wonderful time of the year and there are others who might experience the holidays as the most stressful or lonely time of the year. Meaning just because it feels joyful for you, doesn't mean everyone enjoys it. And just because it feels like the most stressful time of the year doesn't mean that everyone experiences holiday stress. Chances are you might be experiencing both sides of that spectrum. Some days I'm feeling Holly jolly but when I have not seen the sun in a week that feels really blah to me.
In my yoga and mindfulness classes, I like to sometimes start by asking my students to do a mental check in by closing their eyes and picking a number in their head 1 through 5 gauging how energetic they feel: 1 not very to 5 ready to bounce off the walls. I use this scale often even for myself. Sometimes I like to use it as a stress check in.
The idea is labeling or calling out your stress or your energy level and using mindfulness to take note and notice what's going on, right here right now. You might find by identifying how you feel you can already start to feel differently because it feels very separate from ourselves. That's mindfulness.
Check in often.

SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
I was raised by entrepreneurs: my dad owned his own construction business and my mom is a freelance artist. I watched them work long hours and hustle. I also got to watch how easy it came to them. Sure, there were struggles but something always came through. I watched them work with this flow which I now experience in my own business.
When I crave to reach more people, I do. When I need to redirect my focus and put other priorities first, I do. I'm not saying it's always easy AT ALL rather there is a partnership between finding what you love to do and turning it into a business I think you will be naturally supported.

How can you give yourself space today to do less?
Enjoy🙌
🗻When I first heard the Dave Ramsey quote, "success is just a pile of failure you are standing on". I FELT THAT. Often times we see other people standing on top of their mountain of success and think of course… everything comes so easy to them. I could never do that because of *insert excuse here*. I don't really think that anyone has ever had it easy even if it sure feels like that sometimes. When you waste time and focus on all the hard s**t you have been dealt, you will not win. The only thing you will win is your role in best played victim.
By doing that, you are robbing yourself of joy.
I can say that because I've slipped into that place a few times this year and even though I knew exactly what games my mind was playing it felt too good to come out. It can be challenging to really look at yourself and decide to change your mood. We like to hold on to our failures and our stress. I don't know why.
What I do know, is at anytime I have the option to ask myself, "how would the best version of me show up right now?" and that's an extremely powerful practice.
Guys I'm SO EXCITED🎉
For the first time in over 6 months I am teaching at YOGA PLANET. Remember my 9:30 am class I taught every Friday for YEARS? Well, I'm coming for a sub visit this Friday & I hope to see you there.🌞
"I had to make you uncomfortable otherwise you would have never moved" 🙌
I love this lil note from the universe. Transitions are not supposed to be easy. Just because something is difficult or uncomfortable does not mean it's not "meant to be" and you should give up. I get it... you don't like to wait but guess what 🗣️NOBODY LIKES TO WAIT we want fast answers/results. I have seen in my own life's experience after that waiting period or transition the unfolding is far better than I wished and prayed for. That doesn't mean it doesn't suck but rather it will be worth it. Hold tight friends + trust your struggle.
If you practice yoga, you can think of this as a challenging pose. Maybe you try and fail and keep trying other transitions to get to that pose. Eventually you get there and months later looking back you totally forgot that was even a struggle at some point but in that moment it felt like everything.
I think we are very much driven by that uncomfortable transition. What a blessing.
When you regain a sense of your life as a journey of discovery, you return to rhythm with yourself.

Last week's theme for classes was LISTENING.
I asked my teen students what are some things that we listen to in yoga class? Some responses included our breath, our mind/thoughts, the instructions, and what our bodies need in each pose.
We practiced listening activities such as "layers of sound" and "active listening" to help understand this deeper mind/body connection.
Overall, it is important to notice that you have only one attention, meaning, you can only really listen or focus to one thing at a time and in each moment we have the power to tune into whatever it is that we want to focus on.
Have a great week and maybe notice what you choose to focus on!🧐
We all have stress.

At Laveen Elementary, Yoga is replacing detention | AZ Big Media It is a Friday morning at Laveen Elementary, where students have a choice about how they can start their day. Recess. Or Yoga. Journaling is basically the best part of the daily routine. For me, it's a game changer. A small journaling session might not seem like much but it instantly motivates me and raises my vibration. I truly believe by physically writing down your goals you will see results. And no, I don't think it's actual magic it's saying what you want and remembering to rise to that person rather than sitting on your ass and wishing or worrying. I know this because I've seen the "magic" work plenty of times. Be clear and specific with your goals and dreams and have a strong knowing that everything is working itself out.

People ask me all the time what my favorite yoga pose is + I don't have ONE because it's whatever I feel in that moment, however, you might notice I'm always bragging about heart openers😍
💛For me, heart openers help me feel more energetic, light-hearted, and better able to surrender💛
