The ancient Sanskrit word Chakra means spinning wheel. The chakras are spinning disks of energy that can stay balanced for optimal emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. If energy in the body becomes blocked or stagnant in one or more of the chakras; it can trigger physical, mental, or emotional imbalance. This meditation helps to realign the body, mind and spirit to harmony, and balance.
Bilateral relaxation meditations enable the balancing of the left/right hemispheres of the brain, to create equilibrium and homeostasis; a sense of peace and tranquility and moves a triggered or stressed mind from the sympathetic nervous system of fight, flight, freeze mode to the parasympathetic nervous system of rest and digest.
The value of creating a balanced and calm mind, body and soul is universally needed today more than ever and in under 20 minutes we can change our experience from the hormones of stress; cortisol and adrenaline, to the happy and loving endorphins of dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin.

The two EMDR bilateral relaxation meditations that I have created are for relaxing your nervous system and calming your mind.
With my years of studying neurobiology and working with PTSD and Complex Trauma;
These meditations have been specifically created using alternating bilateral heartbeats embedded in the meditation which calms a lateralized brain hence using headphones.
So much neurological research has now been done around this technique over the years that we can now actually witness homeostasis happen in real time with brain scans or an MRI as the bilateral sounds take us into whole brain function.

How is EMDR therapy different from other therapies?
EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or
completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the
emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to
resume its natural healing process.
EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For
many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other
psychotherapies.

How does EMDR therapy affect the brain?
Our brains have a natural way to recover from traumatic memories and events. This process involves communication between the amygdala (the alarm signal for stressful events), the hippocampus (which assists with learning, including memories about safety and danger), and the prefrontal cortex (which analyzes and controls behavior and emotion). While many times traumatic experiences can be managed and resolved spontaneously, they may not be processed without help.
Stress responses are part of our natural fight, flight, or freeze instincts. When distress from a disturbing event remains, the upsetting images, thoughts, and emotions may create an overwhelming feeling of being back in that moment, or of being “frozen in time.” EMDR therapy helps the brain process these memories, and allows normal healing to resume. The experience is still remembered, but the fight, flight, or freeze response from the original event is resolved.

Can EMDR therapy be done without a trained EMDR therapist?
EMDR therapy is a mental health intervention. As such, it should only be offered by properly trained and licensed mental health clinicians. EMDRIA does not condone or support indiscriminate uses of EMDR therapy such as "do-it-yourself" virtual therapy.
Home EMDRIA is a professional association for EMDR practitioners and researchers to seek the highest standards for clinical use of EMDR. EMDR is an accepted psychotherapy by leading mental health organizations throughout the world for the treatment of a variety of symptoms and conditions.
