Residents may experience low water pressure and/or cloudy water for a couple days. Please remember to run your water to assist with flushing the system. If anyone has any questions, please contact the Water Operator or the Township Supervisor.

Attention Germfask Township -

Friendly reminder that all flowers must be removed from the cemetery by October 15th! Any flowers remaining after October 15th will be removed and disposed of by the Township.

Winter arrangements may be placed on gravesites after October 31st. All winter arrangements must be hung and may not be placed near or on the ground.

There have been multiple instances of vandalism recently at the Germfask Town Hall. While we encourage members of the community to use the Township facilities and enjoy them as much as we do, we ask that everyone please respect and leave the area the way it was when you arrived. Thank you!

Polls are open at the Germfask Town Hall from 7 am - 8 pm today, August 2, 2022!

Please read the following statement from Germfask Township Water Operator regarding Saturday’s loss of water pressure.

“The loss of pressure in Germfask this past Saturday was due to a very large service leak at the end of 10 curves road. The leak was big enough that the system was losing water faster than could be pumped to maintain pressure. Normally the township uses between 9,000 and 11,000 gallons a day. Over less than 12 hours nearly 70,000 gallons was lost to this leak. This resulted in the loss of pressure on Saturday. Due to this loss of pressure we issued a boil water advisory for all residents. Boil advisories are put in place whenever there is a significant loss in pressure in the system that could allow back flow or intrusion of potentially harmful substances into the water system. The water was tested two consecutive days for bacteriological contamination and has come back negative on both tests and so now the boil advisory is lifted and the system is back to normal. We apologize for the inconvenience over the weekend and we hope that this will clear up any concerns or questions anyone might have. Lastly, we want to thank all of the people who were able to help on Saturday to rectify the issue and donate their time, energy, tools, and equipment. John Barker, John & Sandy Glenn, Diana Tapert, and Abby & Robert Burton were all a huge help and with their efforts we were able to restore everyone’s water in less than half a day. A special thanks to Rick Brown for locating the leak quickly and an extra special thanks to Kevin Lustila for his excavator operations and supplies. We have located the source of the water pressure issue and it has been resolved.

Germfask Township is issuing a 24 hour boil water advisory. Please boil your water prior to consumption for the next 24 hours.
