Taira Foo Dance Company is a story-based company founded by choreographer Taira Foo to bring the narrative ballet art-form into the 21st century. Taira is known for her rapid-fire, high-energy choreography, delivering powerful emotional performances. This has been a long road but a path I continue to stay on. Seems to be really hard out there at the moment to get funded, to get venues to see/hear you, to get work on…..
The system seems tough and in terms of funding, pretty hard to access. Although my heart is kind of breaking, I am not going to let it break me.
Going to keep banging on that door till somebody lets me in.
Any creatives out there trying to get work on. Let’s keep going. Just one more step ❤️

Constella Music’s 10th Anniversary Performance – Mixed Bill which includes
The world premiere of London Portraits, a new opera-ballet presented as a fusion of jazz and classical music written and composed by Leo Geyer. The music is reflected in the powerful choreography by Taira Foo, combining contemporary ballet with street dance. Performed by acclaimed Anglo-Venezuelan soprano Sofia Kirwan-Baez and award-winning pianist Hamish Brown.

The making of S I C K will be released on the 21st of April on the ODUK platform and posted to my SM platforms.
With theatres closed due to the Pandemic we decided to film phase two of our evolving performance piece S I C K. We also decided the safest place to film would be in our rehearsal studio which had been our safe space during three weeks of intensive rehearsals. It’s raw, it’s unvarnished but as you’ll see it is powerful and thought provoking...”
