Happy holidays!
This Sunday, December 2nd, at sunset is the beginning of Hanukkah, a Jewish holiday that lasts 8 days to celebrate the victory of the Maccabees to reclaim the temple and of the miracle of the oil lasting 8 days to light the holy of hollies even though there wasn't enough. To celebrate people eat latkes and donuts fried in oil during this holiday. This food is considered parv and very tasty. I know what we will be having at home and I can't wait to learn how to make these this year..

One thing that I learned today is that you have to make sure that the turkey has reach a safe to eat temperature before you can let it rest before serving. The temperature is important for killing all the contaminates that can make you sick. Make sure you put the meat thermometer into the thickest part of the meat to check and make sure it is all the way to the bone to get an accurate reading. Do not put it in the cavity because that is going to be a different temperature. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/roasted-turkey-recipe-1941883
