Still need your mpox (monkeypox) vaccine? You’re in luck. CommUnityCare will be hosting vaccine clinics offering doses of the Jynneos vaccine. The clinics are open to the community.

The vaccine clinics will be held at the Southeast Health and Wellness Center (2901 Montopolis Drive Austin TX 78741) on Saturday, July 8 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday, July 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mpox, formerly known as monkeypox, is still a threat to communities in Texas and across the U.S. Health care professionals should prepare for a possible resurgence this summer.

The CDC reports the virus continues to disproportionately affect gay and bis*xual men and other men who have s*x with men.

To help prevent another outbreak during the summer months, DSHS is urging clinicians to:
😷 Be on alert for new cases of mpox.
🔔 Encourage vaccinations for people who consider themselves at risk.
🩺 Test patients for suspected mpox even if previously vaccinated or infected.
