One of the most fun cake themes is horror cakes.
They wanted a white cake with handprints.
The cake is a chocolate chip chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream. The 'bone' is fondant. The 'red stuff' is a strawberry flavored syrup with the appropriate color added.

Busy weekend with three orders-all from friends supporting my small cake business.
1. A lemon wedding cake with vanilla buttercream.
2. An anniversary cake with chocolate cake and crème bavaroise filling (Bavarian cream).
3.Dark chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting.

Fun wedding cake with a surprise for the groom. The bride wanted Mickey Mouse silhouettes and Legos partially hidden by a 'curtain' for the groom who is a Lego fan.
They chose lemon cake with vanilla frosting.

When the birthday boy wants a shark and bug cake.
Chocolate chip cake with cookies baked inside. Cookie dough icing filling, and vanilla buttercream.
Two types of sugar cookies for a family whose Italians roots has a cookie table as a wedding tradition.
First flavor with Fiori di Sicilia with champagne flavored royal icing.
The second flavor is a vanilla bean sugar cookie with wedding cake flavored royal icing.

I love when someone wants to try a specialty flavor! These are lemon lavender cupcakes (organic lemon & organic lavender buds were used) to create a bright, citrus and floral flavor.
The icing is lemon buttercream with Tahitian vanilla and lemon zest (one reason that I always use organic lemons). I sprinkled lemon zest on one half & lavender buds on the other half.
The cookies are sugar cookies with royal icing. The royal icing had vanilla, almond, and lemon flavorings.

These were so fun to make! This was for a Mediterranean & citrus themed wedding shower!

Happy Eclipse Day! I usually don't have time to make a cake for ourselves, but I used this to expirement with different icing and vanilla cake recipe.

Baby shower cake for 50 people. Half is vanilla and the other half is strawberry cake. Everything is edible. My favorite parts are the duck and the checkered blanket.
I had fun making this Star Wars galaxy cake for "Episode 7" of the birthday boy's life.
