From the first plow to the use of drones and drought resistant crops, we covered many of the inventions and technologies from early agricultural production to current years this week in ag science.
Next up is the importance and impact that the agricultural industry has on the state of South Carolina and Greenwood County!
Did you know that the state of SC produces more peaches than Georgia? In fact, one county alone in our state yields more than the entire Peach State and ranks second to California in overall production nationally. 🍑
A big congratulations to two of our very own for their early graduation from GHS! During their time in our courses and the FFA they have made a huge impact in our program and created quite the résumé.
Both Kassidy and Genna were chartering members of our FFA program, both served as FFA president, Kassidy is our current Student Advisor and Genna is the current President. Both have participated in multiple CDEs, have served on committees, gained industry certifications, volunteered with the Special Olympics State Equestrian Show with the Greenwood Burton Center and became completers in our Horticulture pathway.
Kassidy and Genna will both continue their education at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) located in Tifton Georgia in the fall majoring in Veterinary Sciences and Livestock Production, respectively.
We are proud of their dedication and commitment to not only our program and FFA chapter, but to their community and other studies as well.
Congratulations girls, I expect big things from you in the future.
