Today we House heads celebrate the birthday of perhaps the most important, most influential underground Club DJ Ever!!! The legend Ron Hardy.
Some may even know how important he is to the foundation of house music but today I want to introduce to you perhaps the most important contribution he’s made to our music. Today we speak about House. Most may not know how important this man is to the story of the sound that (myself, and Herb J) created with the so let me explain. Two things. When we played the track for Ron, if he said to us that it was garbage, then it’s over before it began. That’s how important his opinion on music was. We would have walked away with our heads hung low. 2) The first time Ron played the track out he dropped it 4 times in a single night! Who does that with a track no one has ever heard or could have even imagined at the time? 🤷🏽♂️. The first two times people hated it. By the 3rd time they just tolerated it. But by the 4th time people just went buck wild and started dancing wild and then next thing you know we ended up slam dancing! Ron Hardy is the real reason why acid became a thing. He’s why we have acid house music today. Please show your love for the legend that is Ron Hardy. Jack It Up Ronnie!!!
