Hunt FFA
Hunt FFA members traveled to Raleigh June 25th and 26th for the 95th State FFA Convention. While there members competed in various career development event contests and placed among the top teams in the state. Members competed in Agricultural Tools and Materials Identification, Food Science and Technology, Introduction to Horticulture, Meats Evaluation, and Nursery/Landscape. The chapter was also recognized as one of 28 Superior FFA Chapters in the state.

A couple weeks ago Hunt FFA members enjoyed their spring cookout.
Yesterday Hunt FFA members competed in various career development event competitions at the East Central Region FFA Rally. The Nursery/Landscape and Introduction to Horticulture teams advanced to the state level in June. Congratulations to everyone for all the hard work.

Congrats to the winner of the National FFA Week North Carolina Ag Product Prize Basket…..Ms. Dunkle! Thank you to everyone that made this year’s National FFA Week great!
Last week Hunt FFA members competed in various Federation FFA Events that were hosted at Hunt and they did a great job.
- Mackenzie placed 1st overall and Olivia placed 4th overall in the Employment Skills competition
- The Hunt Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of Kamryn, Sydney, Josie, Anabel, Rolando, and Kate placed 1st overall
- Gracelyn placed 2nd overall in the Extemporaneous Public Speaking competition
- McLane placed 2nd overall in the Creed Speaking competition
- The Hunt Tool ID team consisting of McLane, Seth, and Nelly placed 2nd overall. McLane also had the highest individual Tool ID score in the entire Federation.
Hunt members and teams advanced to the next level for all of these events. Congratulations to our members!
Hunt FFA members competed in the State FFA Poultry Judging Competition today. Great job representing Hunt!
A big thank you to all the staff that came to the FFA teacher appreciation reception today to help us celebrate National FFA Week. Also, great job officers that helped to make this a success.

Hunt FFA officers and members brought a little Christmas cheer to some of the residents of Spring Arbor Senior Living.
Hunt FFA members enjoyed our December chapter meeting by making gingerbread houses and having hot chocolate and snacks all while watching a Christmas movie.
Hunt FFA officers and members began shopping to give a local family a Merry Christmas.
Congrats to the Hunt FFA Jr and Sr Livestock Judging teams for representing Hunt well at the Regional Contest this week.

Hunt FFA members sold, unloaded, sorted, and delivered almost 700 mums last week. Thank you to everyone that supported our program and students!
Hunt FFA members attended Regional Leadership Conference at Southern Nash last week.
Congrats to the Hunt FFA Officers for their 2nd place booth in the Wilson County Fair. Also, congratulations to our tractor and truck drivers. Ariel placed 3rd and Bryan placed 4th in the FFA Federation Tractor Driving Competition held at the Wilson Fair while Olivia placed 3rd and Meredyth placed 4th in the Federation Truck Driving Competition.

-Nursery Landscape 10th in the entire state (Madelyn was 9th high individual in the state)
-Food Science 15th in the entire state
-Milk Quality and Products 17th in the entire state

2022-2023 Hunt FFA Officers
Select Hunt FFA members and officers traveled to Rock Ridge Elementary for the county “Farm to Table Day” to teach students about watermelons and help them plant their own seeds to grow. Thank you to former Hunt FFA member, Mr. Stephen Daniels, for presenting the growing/harvesting process to the students.
Hunt horticulture students have been learning different pruning methods and practicing them in our school arboretum.
