Bulgarian Shevitsi stand out as one of the most picturesque traditions on the Balkan Peninsula. Besides their decorative purpose, Shevitsi aim to protect and even heal, believed to bring fertility, health, ward off curses, and attract love. Each Shevitsa carries significance and purpose!

Take, for example, the Elbetitsa!
The Elbetitsa is a symbol representing harmony and understanding. The double star, or two intertwined crosses, depicts the four primary and four additional directions of the world, uniting them in a synchronous and unified center. The Elbetitsa/Rosette is associated with reverence for the sun and carries a message of health, prosperity, and blessings. In the culture of the Proto-Bulgarians, we find the Elbetitsa in the title "bagatur" as a symbol of strength and power.
