On a ketogenic diet, is when your entire body switches its fuel supply from sugar to run almost entirely on fat. Insulin levels become very low, and fat burning increases dramatically. It becomes easy to access fat stores to burn them off. This is great if you’re trying to lose weight, but there are also other less obvious benefits, such as less hunger and a steady supply of energy, keeping you alert and focused.

The fastest way to loose weight is by intermittent fasting – not eating anything for a few hours or a day if you can manage. This diet restricts carbs intake, but you can consume between 5% - 20% depending on how quick you would like to loose weight.

A ketogenic diet can be followed indefinitely. The main benefit is weight loss – with or without having to fast.
