Firehouse Cookie Company has the honor of partnering with Vacaville Police Department and the Police Officers Association to honor Officer Matthew Bowen who tragically died in the line of duty!

Matt was conducting a traffic stop when another vehicle collided with him. Vacaville Fire Dept. along with medical staff from Kaiser valiantly fought to save Matt however he succumbed to his injuries and passed away. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

We are offering 2 options for this fundraiser, a half dozen and 1 dozen. The 3 flavors that are being offered are Hero on Wheels Chocolate Chip, Nuttin But Sprinkles and Sugar Cookie. Sad day for Vacaville Fire Dept RIP Brother 🙏

VACAVILLE, Calif. – It is with deep sadness that the City of Vacaville Fire Department announces the tragic passing of one of our dedicated team members, Code Enforcement Technician Bryden Nadasdy, due to an off-duty accident.

The accident occurred in the late hours of July 12, 2024, on Vaca Valley Parkway west of Browns Valley Road. Details of the accident are currently being investigated by the California Highway Patrol.

Bryden Nadasdy was a dedicated member of our community, having served as a Code Enforcement Technician with the Fire Department since March 21, 2022. He served with the highest level of dedication and commitment, and his loss is deeply felt by the fire department, the City, and the community. He is survived by his mother and brother.

We extend our deepest sympathies to Bryden’s loved ones and join them in honoring his memory and contributions to the community. The City of Vacaville is providing support and counseling services to all employees affected by this loss.

LOS ANGELES - The is mourning the loss of one of our recruit firefighters.

At 5:14 AM on April 15, 2024, a tragic incident occurred on the northbound Hollywood (US 101) Freeway at Vineland Avenue in Studio City.

An LAFD recruit on his way to the Drill Tower Academy for training may have been involved in a traffic collision. He got out of his vehicle to likely assess the situation and help anyone in need when he was hit by another car. Our own firefighter paramedics responded quickly to the scene, but unfortunately, they had to declare our member deceased.

LAFD Recruit Firefighter Jacob Fuerte, 22, joined the LAFD on February 12, 2024. He was in week 10 of a 20-week rigorous training program. He is survived by his father, two sisters, and a brother.

Recruit Fuerte’s father is a 17-year veteran Firefighter/Paramedic with the department, and he has dedicated his life to helping others.

Raised in the LAFD family, Recruit Fuerte understood the importance of helping those in need.

“I received devastating news this morning that one of our colleagues lost their life tragically. He had just started his firefighting career, which requires courage, bravery, and prioritizing others before oneself. Our thoughts and prayers remain with his family during this most difficult time.” said City of Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is conducting a hit-and-run investigation into this tragedy’s circumstances.
