Dan and Nate traveled to sunny Bentonville, AR to put in a big week of dirt training in preparation for a season filled with gravel and MTB races. Fueled by espresso from The Meteor and Airship Coffee, their training camp included rides in Coler, SlaughterPen, Back40, and the Ozark Mountains. A great wrap-up to winter and a preview of what’s to come.
got the off-road program under way at AZ. His goal was to light up the diesel engine for the season and well..mission accomplished. 7 hours of pressure on the pedals that included 50 miles of single track, maybe a crash and lotsa snacks did the trick!
Roads maybe ain’t so good right now…but my carbon bottle cages have been flawless. Lotta dirt road miles on these things to boot!
That’s a wrap on the early season stages races in Arizona.
Little excerpt from the members who were in the action at
P1/2: Started the circuit race today in a pretty stressful environment with a really sketchy course filled with lots of road furniture and cones restricting traffic. Tyler and Luke got pretty good at sling-shooting each other into the breaks and worked well together communicating and quickly catching dangerous moves with representation of big teams. They both ended up top 30 given some really sketchy last 2 laps with 2 crashes.
Final GC: Tyler 33, Luke 54
2/3: The Cat 2’s also had a success full weekend with Liam getting 13th in the Road race and 10th in today’s circuit race today. Ryan was in relentless pursuit of the breakaway with 6 efforts trying to escape off the front.
Final GC: Liam 25th, Ryan 32nd.
Overall great weekend and really excited to see what we can do in the near future! Most importantly stoked to stay rubber-side down. On to the next!
Little update from the crew down at
Tucson Bicycle Classic
P1/2 - Tyler Thorp, Luke Mather; a big break went up the road, Luke started out in the move but dropped back about halfway through the race. The guys filtered into the field for the remainder of the race and Tyler took 4th in the field sprint behind the 14 breakaway riders.
Men 2/3 - Liam Olson, Ryan Witt; huge field made for negative racing most of the day, Liam took bonus seconds on the intermediate sprint and nabbed 14th in the finish.
Final stage tomorrow is a circuit race at 2:40pm. GC is super close in both fields, so it is all to play for in the final stage.
