MAID, AKA Medical Assistance in Dying, for US
This is a page for people who support/advocate for the legalization of MAID in the United States.
I am late to the news that Canada has apparently postponed MAiD AGAIN!? I have to do some reading but this is horrible.
It's easy to become discouraged... will we ever have MAiD or physicians assistance in Dying here, in the United States...
But that is not my prerogative here, I simply only wish to raise awareness about the topic.
I, and many other's want out, and Canada kind of gave us hope, but now... this sucks..
Anyone thats pro (Medical Aid in Dying) MAiD, come give us a like there's also a group MAID, Medical Assistance in Dying for US that anyone's welcome to join.
In addition to that, there are also support groups available like MAID for mental illnesses support group. Please join our community if you've struggled with $Uicide and are pro people having a choice in wether or not the live or die. It's that simple.
Ok, thank you, Connor, for your feed back.
Some says are harder than others. Some says are better than others however, I know without a doubt in my heart and soul that no matter how good things get or become...
I'm still checking out asap.
The longing inside of me, for freedom from pain amd the bo***ge of the external world is not going to dissipate because... of anything.
The best possible option is to just try and make the best of the time I've got if I'm gonna be stuck here anyway. But screw the typical type of advancement we people want to accomplish... nag, I want to dedicate every single effort I have left in me to raise awareness of MAiD,, and maybe the "spirit" or "universe", whatever you choose to call it will guide me in what I need to do at the right time.
Idk I definitely feel like starting to talk about it and getting the conversation going is a good place to start.
Feedback is more than welcome! 🖤
This is what a member said they will put on their car, in case anyone finds her before she has completely left this world.
“This is a rational su!cide, and it is my choice. If anyone attempts to resuscitate me or intervene, I will sue you. That includes anyone, and everyone involved. Please do not interrupt my right to take a Final Exit on my terms, since I cannot die with dignity in this country, but instead must do something that looks violent like this when all I was looking to do was peacefully and painlessly END my suffering.”
This, or something similar will be found by many people, who will more than likely be traumatized thanks to our uncommpassionate laws. laws need to be passed in the
So we euthanize our pets when their medical bill is too high but after I've exhausted all available options and I am still utterly miserable, plagued with crippling anxiety, paralyzed by fear and depression, I've lost everyone I love and care about. And after over 45 hospitalizations, 6 ICU stays, and over 12 botched S attempts, I just want to go. And I very passionately believe I reserve that right and it should be made more humane for people like me. It's harm reduction if nothing else. Just think of how many people won't be traumatized from finding their loved ones brains splattered against their kitchen wall, or hanging from the ceiling... let's just be real here.
This March, MAiD extends to those with mental illness - instead of support, this government is offering them death.
I sincerely appreciate what theyre trying to do and rhe mesaage theyre getting to people... i do. And I can see how MAiD for people with mental Illnesses essential system can be abused, or how it could be used by those who it's not really intented for.
However there are many things in place from what I understand to make sure that people are making the best choice and that it's not based off of something situational like being "lonely"... my/ our longing to be free from the pain of this physical world has very little to do with being "lonely", and that's part of the problem!!!
Many people truly don't understand what it's like to live years upon years of your life in your own hell.
We deserve and reserve the right to stay or go if we so choose. Helping people and trying to share some love and hope into people's lives is great! But for those of us that have been suffering for years on end and have exhausted all treatment options, (for me personally, I've even tried altentative therapies) Nothings working.
I've wanted to exit for the last 25 years of my life and after over 45 hospitalizations and over 12 botched attempts I believe that I and others like me have the right to and .
But if you feel that you still have purpose left on this earth and you have hope that you can unlock tour potential and achieve your dreams, then, of course, we're ALL FOR IT! But for those of us that are literally just waiting to die... I mean we euthanize our pets when their medical care is too expensive yet we won't show the same compassion to our fellow human beings that are suffering.
I see and understand the opposing view points to MAiD. However, the benefits outweigh the risks, Imo.
