Introducing Coleman Cummings as Lee in the Off-Broadway production of Waiting In The Wings: The Musical!

What is your favorite part about your character?
My favorite part about Lee is his empathy. He sees the good in people and the humanity in the world.

What is your favorite musical? What do you think your character’s favorite musical is?
My favorite musical is probably Rent. And Lee is not big into musicals so something that’s really popular like Wicked probably!

How are you similar and different from your character?
I relate to Lee in being empathetic and caring for people. We are different in that he was able to settle and give up on his dreams or at least needed some outside motivation to get going again! I have the drive still! Haha

Why should someone come see Waiting In The Wings?
Waiting in the Wings is a love letter to musical theater lovers, and anyone with a dream. It’s fierce, funny, and heartfelt!

What’s your favorite part about the show?
The whole show isn’t staged yet but so far my favorite number is bases loaded! It’s fun to dance around the stage and be sexy and watch Jonathan slay!

If you could play any other character in the show, who would you play?
I think I would want to be Delores! That track plays so many different characters and has some fierce belting!

Introducing Zoë Schneider-Smith as Rita in the Off-Broadway production of Waiting In The Wings: The Musical!

What is your favorite part about your character?
My favorite part about Rita is that she loves to help people! She may not always approach it with the greatest of tact but I love her Glinda-esk qualities.

What is your favorite musical? What do you think your character's favorite musical is?
It’s too hard to choose my favorite musical! But Mamma Mia and Sunday in the Park with George are definitely up there. Rita’s favorite is 100% Phantom of the Opera and its closing has devastated her, please, no questions at this time.

How are you similar and different to your character?
Rita has a confidence to her that I could definitely use to take a page or two from her book. I would say we are similar in that we care deeply for the people in our lives.

Why should someone come see Waiting In The Wings?
You should come because everyone needs a good laugh!

What's your favorite part about the show?
My favorite part about the show is the absolute playfulness of it. Who doesn’t love a good farce?

If you could play any other character in the show, who would you play?
If I could play someone else it would definitely be Peter. Nothing is more fun than being unapologetically over the top.

Tony may not be highly ambitious or a Rhodes scholar but he’s not afraid to take on new challenges or work hard when his ‘charm’ and savant approach to life falls short. In two words - loveable himbo

What is your favorite musical? What do you think your character's favorite musical is?
Matthew - Man of La Mancha
Tony - Musical? If he knew any, King Kong

How are you similar and different to your character?
Similar - Like Tony, I as well am somewhat bewildered as to how I ended up being a performer
Different - I usually don’t get paid to take my clothes off

Why should someone come see Waiting In The Wings?
It's smart enough to keep you paying attention and silly enough to pull you back in if you get lost staring at half naked beefcakes

What's your favorite part about the show?
Dinghy song, that's all I'll say
