Teena May’s music journey began on a toy piano at age 4, in Wi******er VA, then in classical lessons until age 13. At university she taught herself acoustic guitar and began songwriting.
Teena has performed her Country, Pop, Folk and Americana catalogue in Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York City, New Orleans, LA, Nashville, TN and Paris, France.

Three decades isn't so long, really. You could argue I wasn't a fully formed person for at least half of that time. Last night I played songs I've written between 15 years ago and ones only a few months old. I feel beyond grateful for the new job I started last week, the place I've been living the last 18 months, the partner I've been with the last 4 years, our 2 dogs, and all the friends along the way. Thanks for celebrating 30 with me, folks. Here's to being grateful to start a new decade with you all ❤️

Did somebody say new music? 👀
Two and a half years in the making, this EP was meant to bring songs from The Big East West Tour into an audio format. Come October 6th, it'll become a reality. These stories are only a small collection of the songs from that tour, but they represent some of the most impactful moments that still stick with me. As a bonus track, there's a new version of Suffragette with a grass roots/folk feel. Check out on Instagram for a full track list.
