Our Story

BOOK Music & Lyrics - Nurturing the development of new British musical theatre excellence through weekly collaborative workshops. Led by established professionals passing on their legacy, workshops are constructive, peer-supported, and cover all aspects of creating strong, new material. BML recognises the challenges unique to musical theatre for libretto, composition, lyrics, direction, choreography, design, and performance to come together as one.

BML is the UK’s premier training ground for emerging musical theatre writers. Participants of the programme hone their skills in songwriting, storytelling and stagecraft in a collaborative and professionally orientated workshop series. The workshops' focus is developing participants' individual creative voices, through instilling both an excellence of craft knowledge and the confidence to approach creative challenges in a personal and distinctive way.

Supported by the PRS for Music Foundation, the Noel Coward Foundation, and Mercury Musical Developments.
