"Black Skimmer" 14" x 30" watercolor on arches paper. Black Skimmers glide along shorelines and marshes at dawn and dusk scooping up food with their lower mandibles which are submerged and about twice as long as the upper mandible. It was great to be back with Artists at the Old Barn Winery for our first Painting with Raney of 2024! I just love seeing everyone and having fun pushing paint around and not knowing exactly what we are painting...until....the final moment of turning our masterpieces right side up!!! We celebrated birthdays, beating cancer and beautiful blooms of nature. At least our cherry blossoms will never fade. Thank you all for coming out to play.
