Songs for TV Vol. 1 by Yours Mine, Port Streets 16/05/2023

Hello - I released some music today under the Yours Mine name - a collection of older instrumental tracks I licensed for TV back in the day. Kind a mix of synthwave, chillwave and early 2000s breakbeat. Hope all are well.

Lyrics:

'if we're so high' she says
'why's it feel like the bottom
of the cold cold sea instead
we open mouths to kiss
and water rushes in our heads
we open eyes to see
and everything's a muddy blur'
like everything we were

when the whirlpool pulls
you can take my hand
when the words come wrong
I will understand
don't you get it, man?
you don't have to be alone
well you can cast yourself out
or you can follow me home

'if we're still alive,' she says
'it feels like we'd be
happier if we died,' she says
'everyone would talk about us
while they cried cried she says
but right no one talks aloud
to either you or I
but they will to say goodbye'

when the whirlpool pulls...

Antidote by Port Streets, Elise Palmer 11/09/2022

Hey everyone, new single out now, Antidote ft Elise Palmer.

Features Daniele Tiddia on guitar. Co-produced and mixed by Xole (also the cover art).

I've been releasing music every 4 weeks in 2022, and this is release #6. More to come.

Lyrics for singing:

“Antidote”

I need an Antidote
Something real to keep my head afloat
Something to help me tell the true from fake
and kill the poison that you left here
In your wake, yeah
I need an Antidote
Maybe something burning down my throat
Something that when applied aggressively
Erases all the traces of your memory
Your toxic memory

And I thought it was love
that ran through my veins
and captured my heart
and bound it in chains
And I thought it was love
that filled me with doubt
and went to my head
and made me pass out
And I thought it was love
that made me look thin
and start to break out
and crawl in my skin
And I thought it was love
that left me a shell
and hating the world
but mostly hating myself

I need an Antidote
some injection when I start to choke
to shock me back into it might have been
Before you came and sucked out all the oxygen
Ok?
I need an Antidote
Something real to keep my head afloat
Something to help me tell the true from fake
and kill the poison that you left here
In your wake…yeah

And I thought it was love
that ran through my veins
and captured my heart
and bound it in chains
And I thought it was love
that filled me with doubt
and went to my head
and made me pass out
And I thought it was love
that made me look thin
and start to break out
and crawl in my skin
And I thought it was love
that left me this shell
Afraid of the world
and hating myself

I need an Antidote

I Know You Know by Port Streets 13/08/2022

New single out today “I Know You Know” on all platforms: https://songwhip.com/port-streets/i-know-you-know

Features Daniel Tiddia (gtr), Alanah Maguire (vocals), Rose Allnutt (vocals), and Xole (guitar, vocals). Co-produced and mixed by Xole.

Lyrics for singing, hope you like it:

“I Know You Know”

You suck my soul
out of my bones and onto the floor
where I skin my knees
looking for change and trying to please
In another world
with the will to fight
I could kick your ass
I could sleep at night

I know you know
everything will be just fine
I know you know
every word from you’s a lie
I know you know
that you’re running out of luck
I know you know
Karma’s gonna f^&k you up

You blow s*&t up
and a heart full of shrapnel so hard to clean up
So I scrub your sins,
so clean on the one here making amends
In a normal world
feeling safe and sound
I’d be miles away,
you’d be underground

I know you know
everything will be just fine
I know you know
every word from you’s a lie
I know you know
that you’re running out of luck
I know you know
Karma’s gonna f$%k you up

Lonelier by Port Streets 18/07/2022

Hello...."Lonelier" is out today on all streaming services, enjoy: https://songwhip.com/port-streets/lonelier

Thanks to all the great players on this:
Kellee King - vocal
Akin-Alade Ogo - bass
Zev Starosky - guitar
Sola Amari - guitar
Co-produced and mixed/mastered by Xole

Lyrics to sing along:

“Lonelier”

Are you ready for my humbling politeness?
I like to think that it’s genuine
ten summer days just crept away
There’s time to cry, time to never know why
Know why
Well, I can’t wait forever
Or forever and a day
Cause I can’t wait for never
To never come again and
I can’t look ‘cause I can see no reason in
your eyes, your eyes

CHORUS
Time will pass away
Leaving us
Lonelier than we were
Yesterday

Are you waiting for the moment to be unkind?
I’d like to say that now is opportune
When I was young, I was new
May be a bit misguided
but I’d have seen through you…you too?
I don’t claim to understand your coy demands
I don’t particularly care what you do when I’m not there
Do you still have faith in me
despite my smug complacency
‘Don’t you wish I did,’ you said
Well I do

CHORUS

What’s the over-under on
we overstay our time
I miss all the signs
Will we maybe make it through
To the happy other side
And look around to find
We’ve wasted our time?

O.C. Fair by Port Streets 17/06/2022

Good morning my new single "O.C. Fair" is out today. It's a piano pop extravaganza about funnel cake and codependency.

Global link here: https://songwhip.com/port-streets/oc-fair

Thanks to all the wonderful musicians who helped:
Alanah Maguire - Vocals, Flute
Nate Kelmes & Candy Girard - Violin
E Rigby Jones - Background Vocals
Dennis Urquhart - Guitar
Kenny Hutson - Pedal Steel
Tim Horsely - Drums
Me - Ukulele (and the other stuff)

Mixed by Mike Butler, Mastered by Ben Holmes.

Here are the lyrics, I hope they make sense, enjoy:

"O.C. Fair"
So, when you going
to the Orange County Fair?
with all this drinking I was thinking I should drive you there
and please - stay away from the bungee
‘cause I know it's gonna snap
and you don't need no ride to walk yourself into a death trap
and you don't need to stuff your face with funnel cake
to make me know for sure
that your love is more
than I can endure
all by myself

I stopped looking for clues
and tried to relax
and told myself it was a solitary relapse
but you were breaking the news
without breaking a sweat
or maybe something that you hadn't thought to break just yet
I wagered it all
the stars would align
and you would be mine
I wagered it all the stars would align
and give me a sign
I wagered it all the stars would align
and you would be mine (2x)
well maybe next time

so when you going?
and please - when you coming back?
cause you don't need me barging in upon your midnight snack
and you don't need to scrub your face until it aches
to make me know for sure
that my love is purer
than I can endure
than I can endure
all by myself (3x)

OK 2022 single #3 'O.C. Fair' is out Friday.

Typical kitchen sink arrangement w/ piano, organ, pedal steel, violin, acoustic, electric, flute, ukulele, drums, glockenspiel, and banks of vocals, which may explain why this took 20 years to finish.

Listen: Port Streets - "Dream Girl, Decide" 13/06/2022

So cool ... Obscure Sound was one of my favorite MP3 blogs back in the day and they did a great write up of our last 2 singles:

"The initial piano-centric entry suggests a sophisti-pop foray, though the ensuing direction is very much in a rocking, power-pop embrace... strongly reminiscent of prime-era Weezer...

['Bleeding Out'] is a string-laden fusing of folk and rock, succeeding with similarly ardent results."

Thanks Mike Mineo!
