Pain management has denied to see me stating “there’s nothing they can do to help me”.

If you see me self medicating, mind your business. I reached out for help. Now I’ll take matters into my own hands.

It’s been 2 years since I found out my kidney rejected.
2 years since that life changing call.
2 years of dialysis.
2 years of fighting day in and day out.
2 years of getting up when I didn’t think there was fight left and meeting the day head on.
THAT phone call can’t come soon enough.

Day 7 since the second surgery. Day 17 since the first surgery on this arm.

It hurts. It’s healing.

They are FINALLY sending me to pain management. I only had to go through HELL and back and beg for 3 months for them to do something.

Your prayers, thoughts, and good vibes are SO much appreciated. Thank you.

Being strong is getting REALLY hard.

For the first time in THREE months, I completed my treatment. That wasn’t easy. Thank you Benadryl!

The black and blue has connected. It hurts as bad as it looks.

For the memories.

Freeeeee

Not where I want to be at all.

They went in and ballooned my veins open. The blood was backing up into my forearm from my bicep.

It’s hard to get a good pic.
8 days out from surgery 5 weeks (hopefully) from being able to use it.
It hurts.

…let’s try this again…

02/04/2024

Well….not how the day was supposed to go.

My potassium is too high so I’m going to dialysis and then back to have surgery.

02/04/2024

I could think of a million other places I’d rather be.
Here we go.

Have to be at the hospital at 5am. Getting a fistula in my right arm. So I really need THAT phone call between now and then! 🙏

25/03/2024

I have a surgery date…..April 2.

Then I have to wait 6-8 weeks for the fistula to mature and be usable.

I’d much rather just get a kidney.

O- blood type needed

March 14 marked one year since I had my nephrectomy (my transplanted kidney removed).

What. A. Year.

I’m currently waiting for another surgery date (have another fistula placed).

I’m also just waiting ion a phone call for a kidney (O- blood needed).

I. Am. Exhausted.

This page is a place to keep up with all my medical stuff if you care to so I can keep my personal page for encouraging stuff and not bogging people down with stuff they don’t want to hear about.

If you’re new around here, Hi!
My name is Lauren.
I am currently 31.
I was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease due to Focal segmental glomerular sclerosis (FSGS)at 14.
Aka scar tissue in both kidneys from birth and the scar tissue ate up the kidneys.
I was first in dialysis for about 2 years starting in 2014. I did both peritoneal and hemodialysis. Peritoneal dialysis is a catheter placed into the abdomen and you do dialysis at home each night for about 8 hours a session. Hemodialysis is in center and you do dialysis through a fistula in your arm and typically 3-5 hours a session.
I had my first kidney transplant 10/01/2016. I received a cadaver kidney.
Sadly, it failed 5/2/2022. I started dialysis again.
I chose to go with hemodialysis this time since peritoneal didn’t work last time.
In March 2023, I had the transplanted kidney removed as it was dying inside of me. I had many complications from that including but not limited to 2 drains and one wound vac.
Then August 12 2023 came. I had a stroke. My family was told to say goodbye. I was flown to Indy. I came to 3 days later. I walked out of the hospital 13 days later!
I am waiting on a transplant now. I have an O- blood type so I have to receive an O- kidney. If you’re interested and want more information please visit iuhealth.org/transplant
Thank you!

To God be all the glory! Jesus gets all the praise around here! Sorry not sorry.
